Why on Earth would anyone want to disable SuperSomething features? They should be enabled unless you're using SSD drive, but i think most of us here have traditional HDD's anyway...

Ok I'm with RejZoR so far unless someone can explain what the benefits are....I don't get HDD Thrashing, I use Sleep(S3) suspend to ram, and you need Ready boost for that Right? and doesn't superfetch do Good...
Help me understand please

you dont need readyboost for S3, you need hibernation

basically, on some configurations superfect/defrag/readyboost go spaz and the HDD's thrash themselves silly. this is a fix for that.

if your HDD isnt going nuts, dont change anything!

You should hear what it's like on my Raptor X! I'm sure the damn thing is louder and the tone more annoying than the standard one because of that window.

But it does look fantastic and my PC sits on my desk to my right, with the side panel off 24/7 so I can fiddle with it. It's looks over sanity, you see.

Has anyone tried this yet? I'd be really interested to know if this fix was useful for you.

I've just used my little fix in the OP for a return to bliss and figured I'd bump this thread to help others.

Note that this is only worth doing if you're using a hard disc.

Disable super fetch? What the hell is wrong with you? You would prefer a butt scrapingly slow computer over a slightly noisy one? At least warn people about the consequences of turning off such features... I hate people that spread misinformation. Big -1 from me for this thread

Don't be such a muppet, lol. You don't notice any difference in performance - I'm running it like that right now.

You obviously haven't tried it, so have no idea about what you're talking about. Try it and you'll see I'm right.

Minus 1 for your post bro. Hehe, I'm messin'.

The fact that he didn't even mention what superfetch is or explain it is what peeves me.

Would you like him to provide you a link to Google? I mean, really?
