Question Bricked ASUS P5KC - fixable?

Hello all - wondering if anyone can help me.

I recently tried to update the BIOS on my ASUS P5KC using the in-built "EZ Flash" utility (I downloaded the latest version directly from the ASUS website). During the update, it came up with the message saying everything was successful, but upon restarting... nothing. Literally. I get a blank screen and that's it - the fans fire up, but there's no POST.

What happened:
- Plugged in USB drive
- Restarted and went into BIOS
- Opened EZ Flash
- Located ROM on USB drive
- Loaded and started
- EZ Flash then erased the old BIOS and wrote the new one
- Message "Complete - restart in 5 seconds"
- PC restarted
- Blank screen

What I've tried:
- Removing battery (for up to 5 hours) + pressing and holding power button for 1 minute... and putting the battery back
- Inserting the disc that came with the motherboard and rebooting (in an attempt to get SOME form of response)
- Inserting USB drive (that has new ROM on it)

(I've still got the USB stick with the updated BIOS on it).

Anyone got any ideas? Any help really appreciated

System Specs

Make sure to remove the usb stick...

Try booting with the minimum.
One stick ram, no usb devices, no CD/DVD drives, no mouse, etc.

Also, try turning the switch off on the PSU, un-plug from wall outlet, remove battery and replace in the reverse order after a few minutes.
And, if, the motherboard has a clear CMOS header try using it per the manual.

Any other signs of life?

Sorta, sounds like a bad flash, though. I am not familiar with that board.
Does it have a dual bios or recovery option? If so, you might want to look at the manual on how to restore from a bad flash or boot to the other backup.

If you're good at soldering (or know someone who is), you can sometimes find replacement bios chips that are preflashed.

You can buy a new BIOS chip directly from ASUS if you believe your chip is bricked. http://us.estore.asus.com/index.php?..._detail&p=3855

You can fix with SPIPGM2.EXE

I had bad flash on my ASUS P5B motherboard. Like an idiot I tried to use ASUS Update in Windows and it went bad. I was able to fix by loading the BIOS through the motherboard's SPI connector. I just made a video showing how to fix. I uploaded SPIPGM2.exe to files sites and put links in text of video at Youtube:
