A test with HD7850 Single Slot

Hello all , I am new to Techpowerup

I used to submitt news thru Techpowerup Facebook
the "Brazo 2.0" news "Asian shopper" was me
(EXIF - LG P500 , I took it with my cellphone )

but it seems the timing is not right ( different GMT time zone probably causing the problem)

So anyway
I got my hand on this "Colamax" HD7850 Single Slot yesterday
and run some benchs with it

Just to share to you guys

# Please don't ask me where to buy it (contact the brand by other mean )

Awesome share the results. PS looks oddly like the AFOX single slot http://www.techpowerup.com/162071/AF...n-HD-7850.html
And AFOX offical website already has an offical posting on it > http://www.afox-corp.com/en/products....asp?proid=208
IN FACT AFOX's version is all over the net and tons of links on google.

Your colamax version barely has anything hitting on google except removed youtube pages and pages in an asian language.
hmmmmmmm. Somthing smells fishy and it ain't the sushi! lolz
:/

I suppose it's an Asia-only manufacturer (like Colorful)

I believe it. Look at the die in these pics... the caps are all in the same location.

Yes bring on the single slot cards.

80degC is about the average expected out of a single slot solution.
I wonder if that is in a closed case.

Would have expected more of a 4850 cooler design which blows the hot air out to the back corner of the case and the GPU die directly in the center of the heatsink.

none the less the vrms are getting some active cooling despite the hot air being blow into the front of the case.

Non reference, probably made to be cheaper and most likely uses auto fan control set in the BIOS only.

Someone who buys this card will not be looking to overclock, therefore would have no interest in adjusting the fan speed manually.

You can tell the card is made cheaply, If they made a card like the first picture single slot then that would be were the gain is.

Oh I believe a single slot is on the way but not sure of the Colamax brand listed... I think the Afox one is more talked about online imo.

etc etc... pages and pages from the usual suspects from google hits but Colamax single slot was coming up with crickets on google searches... *cricket... *cricket...

Scary same, only diff is the sticker on the fan that I can see. Are they partnering or re-branding ? How big is Colamax in Asia? If they're legit I hope the do well aswell with the same card
Also, that 3DMark11 seems just a tad low. My Diamond 7850 was (sent it back badly machined heatsink) getting @5155 on stock clocks on a P7H55 board with a little i3-550.

Figures, It's cool a lot of companies share Designs and parent manufacturing companies, if it's good spread the wealth right ?
Case in point, Powercolor and Diamond have identical smaller 7850s out right now.

Very nice review. Just a hunch slower than my 560Ti but consumes about 30% less power. I like.
