6950 BIOS Question :)
Hey!
I tried to flash my XFX 6950 2GB (Non reference), but it didn't work. I got errors like "Cannot Erase ROM" and invalid adapter. Now I gave up on that, but my question is after I got that error, is my default BIOS changed AT ALL? I'm afraid it mind be damaged. (Can you guys update to CCC 12.4? Because I tried and I'm still stuck on 12.1) |

I dont think your CCC problem is related to your Vbios. I actually just updated to 12.4 but it still says 12.3

I don't mean it's related, but more as a separate question
![]() Do you think my BIOS is affected at all? |

Doesn't sound like it. Its working so thats a good sign its ok. You lucky you didn't brick your card. Run a benchmark to be certain

"Cannot Erase ROM" means that it did nothing. Before it writes BIOS, it must erase it, and that first step did not happen. The card should still have it's stock BIOS, and everything should be peachy.

Alright thanks guys!
And the unlocked BIOS would be nice, but it doesn't work on my card, which is a XFX 6950 2GB. It's non reference and does not have a dual BIOS switch, therefore I can't flash it ![]() Or will it work? |

There is a way to get it to work, but it requires removing the heatsink, finding a different heatsink that fits, and some physical modifcation of the card. It's not really worth it, to be honest.
