Thanks Dave, great review as always.

The board is actually 20 bucks cheaper and I think it was even cheaper for some time(promo I think) in the egg. Too bad the local dealers had forgotten Biostar. I like this board very much, especially the two PCI slots, but the only thing that concerns me is the first PCI-E slot that is too near the CPU socket. I have Phanteks TC14PE to squeeze there and I am not sure it will fit. Asked Phanteks two times and haven't got a response yet. Do you have any big cooler around just to test if it fits there ? TC14PE is 140mm wide and some guy uses CM 612PWM which is also nearly 140 wide with TZXE3(which has basically the same layout) and it fits. Also Silver Arrow cannot fit(but it is wider than the TC14PE). So I am in a trouble

Didn't see any mention of the number of fan headers - Biostar has always been a bit stingy with those, would appreciate knowing if this board includes more than 3.

I would've preferred if they'd left out VGA in lieu on a DVI-to-VGA adapter - maybe put DP and HDMI above the DVI (in place of the VGA), and used the extra space to add a couple more USB ports.

It has only 3 fan headers, which is bad. Luckily I got fan controller with mine CM Storm Sniper.

After having a Biostart TP67B+ and not TP67XE, enjoyed both the boards immensely, and gotten great performance out of each. I think the gap between companies like Biostar and ECS, and some of the other "cheaper" companies compared to ASUS, Gigabyte and such is much closer now.

Sure looking that way, perhaps the Z77 chipset is helping in this case?

It's great to see power/reset and CMOS buttons right one the board. Doing an out of case build prior to putting it all together can save a world of troubleshooting headaches and those really help.

This one. There's nothing wrong with thw Gene's audio, mind you, but this is a fair bit better, quality-wise. I can really tell when plugging in my POD HD400(and guitar) though.

Yeah, seems I missed that on this review. To be completely honest, I was a bit rushed, as I had my shoulder surgery a few days ago. I have another review already done that should have gone before this one, too, the G1.Sniper M3. I guess you'll see it soon. I've started adding the number of fan headers to the initial spec listing after several requests for that and missed it on this one. I blame the painkillers.

I'm not fully "back" yet. Just bored outta my mind, and trying to get some review work done with one arm to keep me busy.

Thanks though, should be good to go, but i got 6 weeks of nothing much possible, then physio for about 5 months. Hopefully by Christmas I'll be back in tip-top shape. The physio will be the hard part.

Man it usually is, had an ACL repair in my knee and it was tough, but you gotta stick with it. I have a bum shoulder now too from going over the handlebars on my old mt. bike a few too many times, plus some skiing falls I lost count how many times it's been out of the socket. That fix will be sometime in the future.

I digress, good luck with that and the next review
