Weird trouble in PSU.

Well, further problems around here. Sometimes my motherboard doesn't turn on , and I stood search for the problem by removing every parts of computer e and put back again. And the computer turned on, but now I figured out what make this happen, is due the PSU cable 24 ATX ( the Main cable i guess ), What could be this ?, This for me is weird, when the computer doesn't turn on, i have to remove the 24P ATX cable from the motherboard and put it back again,

Why this happen ?

Thanks for everything, sorry about my english.

Yes, please fill in your system specs. It sounds like the PSU could be under-powered and the motherboard is keeping the system from booting because of this and when you reset the 24-pin ATX power connector it's resetting this fault, but we don't know that without more information.

Hi

Put this information in User CP, then you will have this information on display - http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/usercp.php and select "edit system specs"

nb: What operating system are you using and PC Case, would be helpful

I'll try this out, I could do it with a knife ?
Like, put the knife into there in the two pins and let him for about 30 sec.

I've had this happen with mine too; re-seating the 24pin plug solved it as you found out. Maybe yours get loose after a while and the board isn't getting a solid connection? Mine did it after I installed a GPU and I recall having to tug a little at the connector, maybe that's what caused it.

Yes, it's really that, I reset the 24 p, and i can shutdown, turn on, for about 6 turns, and then it doesn't comes back, and i have to reset again, but now I'm doing the following:

when I turn off the computer, I turn off everything in energy, turn off all the cable from the outlet, And that is working for me.

If your 24pin hangs from the motherboard connector maybe you should consider putting a zip tie mount close-by and secure the 24pin cable there so that it doesn't hang.

Guys I think you guys are understanding wrong, my PSU turns on, everytime her turns on, the trouble is that the motherboard doesn't do, Like, that switch thatJetster and LAW-II have said, I guess you are thinking that when I push the button but nothing happens, but is not that, i push the button the power supply turns on, but the motherboard doesn't, I thought very weird because, i have just to take off the 24 p from the mb and it comes as paradise. You guys keep thinking is the Frontal Red Painel and power problem ?

Sorry again for my horrible english, I hope you understand

From what I can understand, you have tried booting by un-plugging everything.
Does this include the keyboard, CD/DVD drives, usb devices, using one stick of memory (and, swapping them out for one another), disconnecting any connections to ports on the case, etc. ?

TRWOV had a valid observation. Is the 24 pin connector maintaining good contact?
Is there any strain on the cable?
Are the pins in the connector locked in place?
How does the connector(socket) on the motherboard seem?

Also, check all your other power connections.
Is the reset cmos dip on the MB header in the correct position?

That PSU (if, it is a 430 watt) is at the low end of the requirement for that HD6770 per quite a few manufacturers.
Now, don't get me wrong, it is a good supply, but it could be worth a look at.
I had a 750 watt corsair, brand new, with a low power good signal and would not boot the MB, and had to send it back... the second one worked fine.
How old is it? Have you checked the PSU's output?
Try a different PSU, if, you have one or can borrow one.

It is, also, a possibility that the Power Good Signal is low and not letting the timer start the CPU.
Here is a simple, but decent explanation of "Power Good Signaling" of the PSU.

I said understand, because my english ( understand my english, not the error )
Yes man, you gave me a god explanation
The PSU is new, I think even not one month of use, and the output that you said, if it is the voltage 110v or 220v, this PSU doesn't have it, Do you think if this keep happening could crash my computer ?

Because for me make a change with the seller can get complicated, and with that Power Good Signal, how can I verify it ?

Hey guys more info, seems this happen just when my computer gets on full load , example : I passed all day playing heavy games, like GTA IV, BF3, COD 3, etc..., if I turn it off, and then, turn it back again, it turns normal, but, if I turn it off, and sleep, and try to turn it on in the next day, sometimes doesn't turn.

Thanks

This is a long shot but could it be that the heat generated by the current going through the 24pin cable expands the pins and then during cool-down they get dislodged?

Could you put a picture of your PC from the inside?

Can't think of anything else to explain the behavior.

Give it a good clean with an air compressor, and do what #jetster said and try shorting the leads on the Front panel header.
