Moderator Staff changes about as often as Sea Org contracts expire. Is TPU's relatively small size the reason the staff stays so stagnant?

I don't get the question. Are you saying we need to fire and hire new people? I think the staff here does a great job and I'm glad we have who we have.

Refreshing the staff (whether by addition, contraction, etc) would keep the community fresh. Its like grilled cheese everyday over here.

I honestly don't see how it would do that. The community is made up by the sum of its members. Staff members have specific jobs to do and I don't see how placing a different person in a position would keep the community fresh. Just my opinion I guess.

We have had some leave and some new join in the past months...... unless you are suggesting a sort of tenure of appointment?

Forum staff, no, not gonna change anything. Review staff, possibly, but then, that is just the front page.

I'll offer my job to someone. Doesn't pay much, takes a huge time commitment, and you end up with stacks of hardware collecting dust.

1. I F@#KING LOVE GRILL CHEESE.

2. Refreshing the staff would lead to W1zz, Bta or Erocker having to retrain mods. It would also lead to new mods making stupid mistakes and they might run off established members.

3. Mods now are very much kept on the level with their behaviour so to speak. Those boundaries have been set and are well respected between the mods and the community. W1zz runs a very fair ship on TPU. Having new mods constantly would lead to re-establishing those boundaries which is a pain in EVERYONES butt. Basically I believe the mods respect the community and treat it as such. New mods might need some breaking in. Thats problems no one wants.

Savvy?

Grilled cheese with mayo is THE BEST, just like our current forum moderator staff.

edit: Also, salami and pepperoni on there too.
edit2: And provolone as well as American cheese.

The United States government, I'm sure would be more than happy to help! They think they're good at controlling everything. I'm sure they would have your best interests in mind.

The Muslim Brotherhood perhaps?

YOU (all) are the community, we're just the internet babysitters. Feel free to change your underwear once in awhile.

First off, you people saying you can eat grilled cheese everyday are liars You were probably the same kids that said you could eat pizza everyday for the rest of your life, too Props to the mods who let the sandwich talk go on, I thought it was hilarious.

On a more serious note, I've noticed on other forums (like OCN, for example), members seem to have a lot more drive to contribute, whether thats in answering questions in threads, writing reviews, or creating guides (an area I think TPU needs to improve on). My theory is that this us in part because they know that productive members are frequently 'promoted' to moderators- something they might consider special. If it means more people visiting the site and growth, I am all for it.

I'm glad the mods didnt consider my request an attack on them.

Semi OT:

W1z, is there anyway you can reach out to hardware vendors and game publishers to get some free products for giveaways here on the forum? Great way for their products to be 'advertised', generate traffic, increase membership, and make members happy. Other than the GPUz contests that run- which aren't even specific to TPU members, there really isn't much going on in the way of giveaways and I would really like to get that to change (as people may have seen).
