Cooler Master Introduces the Elite 120 Advanced Mini-ITX PC Case

Cooler Master, an industry leading chassis, thermal solution, power supply, peripheral, and accessory manufacturer, launches the Elite 120 Advanced Mini-ITX case today. This case will suit the modern day needs for an HTPC in the living room due to its elegant design or as a server case with its space for 5 HDDs/SSDs.

Mini-ITX size, full ATX features

The Elite 120 Advanced is a very compact case (24.0 x 20.7 x 40.1 cm) with a stylish design to fit perfectly next to a television as an HTPC for example. The demands for these kinds of systems are steadily rising though, that is why this new Cooler Master case is aimed at the present and the future. The Elite 120 Advanced has the space to house a much more affordable full size ATX PSU and also long VGA cards like the HD7990 or the GTX690. There is also the option to install a 5.25" optical drive and it features a USB 3.0 port for very fast data transfer to give this case all the options to build the perfect HTPC.





Airflow and storage

When a mini-ITX case gets installed with full ATX components, it needs good cooling to keep these components running smoothly. The Elite 120 Advanced features a smart air flow set up which includes three different fans to get all the fresh air across all these components. These fans are completely silent; after all, a system in a living room should not disturb the user. Another feature what this case offers is room for up to 5 HDDs or SSDs so there is a lot of room to save the latest movies, music or television series and watch them comfortably. The front is made out of stylish brushed aluminum so this makes the entire package complete.

De Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced will be available around the end of July for a recommended price of €44.95.

would have been a perfect silverstone killer if they would have made it 2" longer so the psu doesnt stick out the back. otherwise it seems much more functional than the sugo, but the asking price $55 is much better value for money and can easily be overlooked

This might sound odd.. but these fit perfectly into pet carriers...

I have the SG08 and bought a small black cat carrier from petco for $30 bucks, padded on the inside, and it's as if the bag was meant for it - the dimensions are perfect

Just a tip in case anyone decides to build a lan rig, as its way better protection to transport in a padded bag like than a case with a handle. Also you look like much less of a goober walking around with a square bag than a PC case with a handle.

Agreed on the depth. The Sugo has better cooling, but lacks capability of fitting a full size power supply. The Sugo comes with a power supply which adds to the cost but it I believe is only 450 watts, so no upgrade path there really.

Price wize they are the same if you figure in a power supply. Since I already have one, I would go for this over the Sugo because it would be a lot cheaper.

And about 2" taller as well! In the shot with the Gemini Cooler you can see the PSU would barely have any clearance, and might not fit. Maybe with that extra room you could have some 2.5 mounting points as well

PSU varies across the Sugo range. My SG-07 has a 600W Bronze PSU (which is full-size ATX-160mm long I think), and that can run a 570 with a 2500k of which both are overclocked without issues.

Ashame CM couldn't place the PSU in a similar place to where Silverstone puts it, that way larger coolers could be used.

Yeah this really limits the build options - my case is like yours (just a diff face plate), and it fits the H60 and other 120mm hydro coolers quite nicely (and they do a good jop as intakes too, on the top.

They really need to build an ITX case around using a slim hydro cooler... - like a SG05 but a bit longer with a full PSU and full gfx card compatibility would be perfect.

I wouldn't treat this as an HTPC case. For an HTPC I think at least 4 slots are required, 2 for GPU, 2 for tuner(s) and/or sound card, unless you stream everything.

Might build a machine just to lug to/from uni... this case paired w/ the Antec HCG-400 when on sale would make it a Sugo killer (pretty much half price). I get the complains about the extruding PSU, but it doesn't matter to me since I'll never see the back side. It's a case, not a woman.

Haha, your cooling setup must be nearly the same as mine. I took out the big fan and stuck a push-pull (intaking air) with a Antec 620. Works a treat.

But yes I think really that the Bitfenix Prodigy would be best for an extreme ITX build and then probably the Silverstone Sugo family of cases like this CM case. It's good to see manufacturers bringing out more of these small cases.
