ps3 emulator
Hi!
Is there any ps3 out? I have seen some sites who say about the emulator, but is that really true? Or just a scam? |

Not out there, won't be for a longtime with what the PS3 uses for a processor.

remember what emulators do: they're software which mimics entire hardware systems, don't be surprised if there isn't anything like a PS3 or 360 emu out there some time soon.

Here's a very interesting article on emulation.

Your phone? I find that hard to believe. My old c2d laptop couldn't run FFxii very well. Lots of skipping. Maybe it is running super low res, though, instead of standard res which is already super low.

As in I load roms and play games. I also play n64 games : ] ( albeit with some reduced settings as 20 fps isn't fun) I did, but all the games I play play as they should so it counts as no problem for me

I looked into this myself a while ago. Generally, we can't perfectly replicate the way <insert console you want to emulate here> does things, because of licensing issues and because, for example, the PS2 uses all custom hardware and it's tough to figure out. My 4GHz Phenom II sometimes lags with epsxe, which is emulating a console that had a 33.8MHz processor. Because of the roundabout way we have to do things with emulators, a good rule of thumb is that the emulator would require 10x the cpu power as the console being emulated.

Would GPGPU help with emulation?
I'd imagine it be super helpful for that chip emulation that was discussed earlier. |

Or you can just link me to a working ARM PS2 emulator and I'll concede (youtube link is invalid). |

The discussion of emulators is fine, but be careful what you link to, gents. If an emulator runs afoul of the EULA of the games it could cause you issues with TPU policies.
Just a heads-up from yer Ol' Uncle Kreij.

Well if a GPU can simulate millions of particles interacting in real time it doesn't seem that far fetched that it could simulate something as simple as millions of on and off switches.
Well that's my logic for it anyway
