Gtx 460 sli

So I currently have an EVGA GTX 460 card and a 550W PSU. I'm upgrading my mobo/RAM/processor from an AM2+ Phenom II x4 940 to an i5 2500k, planning to go SLI soon after. I'm running 3 23" 1920x1080 monitors, 1 through the mobo and 2 through the GPU.

The new mobo is certified for SLI and what-not, but my question is this:

This is my GPU: Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, L... [...] 6814130571

They are out of stock, and I can't find the exact one anywhere else. Now, I know SLI is pretty picky, and I wanted to get an identical GPU because of this. Since that isn't an option, what would be my best bet? I see 2 EVGA GTXs on TigerDirect that, while not identical, are pretty similar to the one I currently have:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...768&CatId=3669

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...457&CatId=3669

Would either of these work in SLI, or are the differences too great and I'll end up being boned trying to SLI with this card?

Can't see any of the links. But I wouldn't run 2 460s on a 550W supply.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm upgrading the PSU to a 900W Silver certified one along with everything else, since I plan on going SLI one way or another.

Here's the link for the original:

EVGA 01G-P3-1372-TR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Superc...

The other two links are working fine for me, not sure what the problem is with them.

I've never had any experience with SLI, so forgive me for my ignorance. So what you're saying is that I could buy a 2GB version and have that as the main card, then do the 1GB that I have now in SLI?

If that's not the case, and I can't really find another 460 to match this one with, I'd rather just upgrade to a card I will be able to go SLI without struggling to find a second one within the next year or so.

No point in getting a second 460 with 2GB when your card is 1GB. Anyway you will have only 1GB VRAM available. Somehow I can't see the links but any brand will do but you have to be sure it's the 1GB version with 336 Cuda Cores.

So as long as it's same memory, same number of cores, I'm golden? If so, I found the regular edition (not superclocked) by EVGA, same number of CUDA cores.

That should work fine. When you SLI them it would "match" the clocks using the lowest one.

Actually it does say 1 GB in the title of the item and in the details under "Memory."

Well, from recent news, it looks like the 660 isn't going to be an option, I might just stick with the GTX 460 for a while longer. Thanks for the help, all.

What's wrong with the superclocked card at that link? Just different coolers.

EVGA 01G-P3-1372-TR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Superclocked - 1GB yours
EVGA 01G-P3-1373-AR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Superclocked EE 1GB - The one for sale

Nothing is wrong with the one in the link provided, I just figured that instead of dropping $250 to go with SLI, I'll wait, save up some more, and do a better upgrade a little later. I just decided to not go with the 660 because of the new info coming out that it's gonna be upwards of $350 (we'll see if this is true) and very similar to the 670.
