APU Crossfire?
I have an A8-3870k fm1 setup and thought I might add a hd 7750 for a passive cooled crossfire build. I'm not sure if this will work or if there will be any performance increase with such un-balanced gpus. Anyone have some advice? Thanks.

As I don't have an A8 I can't really say, but if you want to crossfire with a discrete graphics card then it would have to be in the same "family" as the one in the APU. The documentation that came with your APU ought to tell you which cards are qualified with it.

It says 6670, 6570 or 6450 as recommended. Not sure if others work though. |

That article was a good read, it cleared up some confusion but not all... 7000 series won't work.
I've been offered a good deal on a passive HD 6750 and can't figure out if if it will work well in apu crossfire. Lots of conflicting information, some saying the HD 6670 is the highest card that will work in crossfire. Some saying any 6000 card will work. Some saying it is faster using a single card... *brain explodes* |

Just don't call it crossfire, Its not the same. that's were the confusion comes from. Dual Graphics has its own set of rules

How much were you going to spend on the cards you've been looking at. Perhaps we can find something better for the same price : ] |

i run APU crossfire in my laptop.
all i can say is: dont bother. get a faster, single GPU instead. crossfire isnt worth it on the low end cards, since it only adds more GPU power - you're going to have RAM, and RAM bandwidth problems that higher end cards wouldnt have.

I'm still curious to know if the APU will crossfire with 2 6670s for triple... I have not found out to date.
