Latest nVIDIA drivers

Anyone else having issues with them? Everytime I launch a game the driver crashes then it recovers itself and either it causes my game to crash or my frame rates become absolute shit. Im just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if im the only one.

The driver im referring to is 301.42.

Running a GTX560 and I haven't encountered these issues as of yet. Running the same version.

Maybe uninstall the drivers and reinstall?

Strange man. When you did an install did you do a "clean" install in the options?

that really doesn't do anything. better off just using Driver Sweeper or something.

It showed an error in the system events monitor so I checked it out. Apparently when it went to check for updates the password on the Nvidia site was changed and it couldnt connect and would quit. This happen the day before the forums were hacked. I reinstalled the driver using the clean function and they have been fine ever since.

Also I don't use Driver Sweeper anymore. It doesnt work as well with NVIDIA drivers like it did ATI.

What do you do to get clean installs then?

On installation there is an option that removes everything and installs everything new. Works great.

Clean install thing. I always thought that just gets rid of profiles.

I just install the driver and the physx driver. That's it.

Driver Sweeper doesnt really work well with NVIDIA drivers. Ill just use CCleaner.

IIRC, the "clean" option that is in the drivers just resets the game profiles.

301.42 is a bit flaky. I'm waiting for the next WHQL driver and hopefully a few things will be sorted out.

"Driver Sweeper doesnt really work well with NVIDIA drivers. Ill just use CCleaner."

I've used CCleaner but I didn't know it removed Nvidia driver leftovers. Please explain further.

The registry cleaner inside of Ccleaner will help dispose of old driver information that still gets left behind when you uninstall old drivers to install new.
