I agree, the box is appealing to the eye.

Don't understand all the trolling and hate for Win 8. Granted its not perfect, but when you consider what MS is trying to achieve they have done a rather stellar job for their first OS.

I've been using Win 8 Release Preview for some time. I'ts better than 7.
And yes I'll come straight out and say I'm using Win 8 Pro RTM atm. And I will buy it when it's available for so in October.

The OS is great, some things take a little getting used to, but overall it's a win for MS.

Actually this. I was hit with some tingles of nostalgia.

Thought whether it's a good or bad thing is debatable.

Not sure how accurate this is, but it sounds legit.

It's by the well respected Mary Jo Foley, so I'd trust it.

I had one look @ the new UI, and thought it was trash. Now looking at the box, the person who made the UI must've designed the box too.

I really don't care what the box art of OS or application software looks like.
That being said, I have no idea what the background image is supposed to be ... I hope they didn't pay a lot for it.

Two pages talking about the box art. Marketing win. The designer deserves a raise.

Given the OP of the thread was about the box art it makes sense we are talking about it.

It's not a win if everyone's slagging it off.

Perhaps the saying "there's no such thing as bad publicity" applies here?

When you really look at the box art design it does do what it is intended to do.. Compliment Windows Metro *cough* I mean Windows 8 style UI..

Whether you like it or not is irrelevant it is doing what it is meant to.
