MSI Intros B75IA-E33 Mini-ITX Motherboard

MSI introduced the B75IA-E33, a socket LGA1155 motherboard in the mini-ITX form-factor, based on Intel's business-oriented B75 Express chipset. The board has sufficient connectivity for space-saving business PCs, featuring Intel Small Business Advantage. The board also bears the Windows 8 compatibility label. It draws power from conventional 24-pin ATX and 4-pin CPU power connectors. The LGA1155 socket is powered by a 4-phase VRM. It is wired to two DIMM slots, supporting up to 16 GB of dual-channel DDR3-1600 MHz memory; and a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot.

The Intel B75 PCH gives out one SATA 6 Gb/s, and three SATA 3 Gb/s internal ports on the B75IA-E33. Display connectivity includes DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. Other connectivity options include 6-channel HD audio with 7.1-channel optical SPDIF (TOSLINK) output, four USB 3.0 ports (two the rear panel, two by headers), gigabit Ethernet, a number of USB 2.0 ports, and mouse/keyboard combo PS/2 port. The board is driven by UEFI firmware. MSI did not give out pricing information.

First thought, "aww how cute"

Second thought... only one expansion slot and no Wifi. Thankfully it has USB 3.0.

1 expansion to every mITX board. Sad but true.

No Wifi can be a big deal depending on pricing.

Micro-ATX specification allows boards to be as long as 240 mm, allowing up to four expansion slots.

170x170mm doesn't leave you a lot of room to play with. I wish more companies would go into Nano ITX territory (120x120mm) or better yet, pico (100x72mm). But the only boards you can find as an end user is from VIA (which is fine but they are usually a bit on the weak side).

You will have to wait a bit more for GD80, although I suspect that Asus will have better higher end than MSI.

Why not? What better way to showcase your companies prowess in technology design Besides this is the 2nd "entry" level iTX from MSi in the last couple weeks.

Asus can kiss my butt! They will NEVER see another $$$ from me or anyone that i know personally. All the Xonar users, specifically HDAV 1.3's, should band together and hit Asus with a class action lawsuit and put them in their place

I merely listed the p8z77i for referrence, i have no intention of putting it in my box

C'mon MSi!! I have $$$ burning a hole for once
