Which resonable priced 120-128gb ssd?
I have desided to get me a ssd a 120 or 128 gb ssd. But wich ssd? I have a sata II mb so i am thinking of getting a sata III because as one said to me a sata II isn't using stat II to it's maximum (300mb).
One told me not to buy a ocz ssd because he had problems with the 3 he had. So i am thinking of getting a intel 330 or an Kingston SSDNow V+200 for less then 100 euros. Want a ssd for bf 3,bf2 the complete collection,bf 1942, need for speed shift and shift 2 unrelease, grid race driver, driver san francisco (wil only have 3 or 4 games installed), for faster boote time and for apps to open faster, a respons the matches the speed of my i7 870 (oc'ed from 133 to 154 with turbo on) and my 8gb ram. The cheapest 240-256 gb kingston ssd i can get in denmark is just about 30 euros to expensive that's why i am looking for a 120-128gb ssd, have 4 other regular harddrives where i am thinking of getting a sata controller so i can use minimum 3 of my harddrives witch is wd caviar (only 4 sata on my mb)What is a good ssd for me? I will use either vista or windows 64 bit |

Samsung 830 or corsair Force 3/GT are two of the better drives available atm. Everyone is raving about the samsungs atm.

To the above 2 propositions I would add Kingston 3X and Sandisk Extreme.

Well, sorry your friend had problems with the OCZ SSDs, however, I have 3 here and I have not had a single problem with them.
Alot of the problems OCZ had was with the Sandforce firmware/controller problems and it was exacerbated by the large volume of sales they had. If you get one (any SSD) make sure it is or has the latest firmware. My personal favorite right now is the SanDisk Extreme, have had a very good experience with them,so far. Got an OCZ Vertex4 128GB sitting beside me now; I plan on testing that in a day or two. Checked it and it came with latest firmware on it, as did the SanDisk. |

Samsung 830 (non sandforce, 128gb)
Crucial m4 (non sandforce, the cheapest ,128gb) kingston hyperx 3k (sandforce controller, only120gb) Kingston and samsung are very close in price Wich one? Why? Speed is 40% importent and 60% relaibility, stability, but any ssd would be faster then my wd caviar from 2005 ;-) never less i like a fast ssd even if a stable ssd is importent Crucial seem to be the best choise, biggest and cheapest, samsung very popular, kingston looks cool and i like(have) kingston hyper x products (hyper x ram) |

Because they are the best in terms of Price/performance/reliability ratios. Toggle NAND and their own custom 3-Core MCX ARM controller. Their own firmware as well. Amazing SSDs. Im getting another 256GB for my steam.

I know, i would have got one but, they are limited availability over here. A few places have them but they are indirectly imported from the US and so don't carry a v. long warranty and are a bit more expensive.

Yes, very much looking forward to it.
![]() Was originally going to go with a 64GB OCZ Vertex 4 until I saw I could only buy it in a combo deal with McAffe antivirus, which would together cost as much as that Plextor drive at the time. Unfortunately the drive is much too small for all my games, but the intention was just to install the OS and programs on it anyway (even the 64GB would be well enough for that). |

![]() The 128gb Vertex 4 was $80 on Newegg the other day, snagged one just to try it out, though I'm weary because it's OCZ, despite the general consensus that the newer OCZ drives aren't anywhere near as dreadful. But I would feel very good with a Plextor, judging from what I've read about them, and I'd love to snag one in the near future. But to anyone looking for a great ssd, the Samsung 830 takes get my vote (as others have already said)! I have 2 Sammy's and they have been splendid in every respect. The SanDisk Extreme was good too, though I can vouche for Samsung being more reliable. Congrats to you too, good sir! |

Amazing how fast a ssd is, even with sata II my boote time (login with password) until msn is loaded is almost faster then when i was waiting to get msn loaded, startede after i have typed my password with my 2005 wd caviar harddrive using vista, now using windows 7.
