Anyone else had any luck with Windows 8 installation?

I'm trying to install it on VMWare v.7 - but it's having none of it.

"This 64-bit application couldn't load because your PC doesn't have a 64-bit processor"

Eugh. Don't you have to pay to upgrade. The software I have was given to me by my University. I was hoping to do a bit of work on Windows 8 related to my subject i'm studying.

Edit - It's actually Version 7 i'm using.

I've installed Virtual box but still getting errors with installation. It's asking me to reboot the VM every time I launch. I've been told to disable the "No-Execute Memory Protection option" on my host machine.

Is this wise? What does it actually do? I don't want to turn it off without knowing what the effects are.

Cheers

Knowing very little about VM's But I will spout out what little I do know as a suggestion anyway. In the BIOS under CPU Configuration. Do you have Intel Visualization Technology enabled? I know it's disabled by default. I don't know that it's necessary but just chucking possibly useless options?

Thanks for the response INSTG8R. I did notice this but haven't enabled it. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

I think that's more for hardware support rather than running via software, but it does help!
