with a quick google search, you can find the numbers of each.

The issue is not a whole lot happened in terms of performance if you take in the amount of generations that passed since the 2xx series. (I think this has to do with the fact that consoles are a heavy factor in how our games move forward in graphics capability, and this is by far the longest generation of consoles)
My recommendation would be to upgrade a little better than the 650 if you want that significant boost. I do believe that it is still a very relevant upgrade.

Looking at the Crysis benchmarks of both cards, (all same settings)

275 gets 20 FPS
660 gets 38
so we can assume the 650 will get between 32 and 34 by a guess on Crysis, but if you take the fact that the test setup is worse in terms of processing power, it will probably set it back to 28-30 FPS (all educational guesses BTW) - All content taken from TPU reviews

I would guess 20 and 28 respectively, though tested on an older game.

Probably ~28-34% increase.

I would recommend the 570 or 660. There are also some very respectable people here on TPU selling cards for much less than anything you would find online.

Yeah I`m not really looking to upgrade per se , just replace an old glitchy card. I noticed how cheap the 650 was soooo just wanna make sure it`s not actually slower or anything.

Your best bet is to get a used 6870 for that price.

Don't touch the 650. The GTX275 is around the performance of a GTX460 1GB or HD6850 or a slightly overclocked 7770. The 650 is around 7750.

So the straight answer to your question is: it's not better, it's worse by a fair margin.

I think if he "expected" anything, he wouldn't be in here asking people for their "educated" information.. Clearly he knows other people would be better suited to answer this question for him.. Which is why he came here..

I agree with CD and not buy a 650. I would buy the HD 7770 Ghz edition or the HD 6850 for a few more bucks like CD suggested as well. Newegg has the Gigabyte HD 7770 GHz edition for the same price as the 650 @ $119. The HD 7770 GHz edition should be night and day over the 650.

Is there any possibility to adding a second 275?

I loved my SLI 275's.

Edit: SLI GTX275 == (what 600 series performance?)

He said his GTX275 was glitchy.. So, he's out of luck on SLI.

I am pretty sure the 650 will be noticeably faster.

We will have to wait for the benchmarks to be certain of course.

Edit:

I didn't look at the specific setup differences, but the 650 runs Crysis 2 at double the FPS than the 275 runs Crysis 1:
