GTX 660Ti 2 or 3gb version?

i am thinking about downgrading to a GTX 660Ti bcs i rarely use my GTX 680 as much as i actually want to.

Bcs of time (busy with other stuff and no feeling well) and there actually ain't that many games am playing plus i am waiting on BioShock Infinite, GTAIV and Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012 to get release but i still think a GTX 660 Ti can handle that or am i wrong when i say 1080p?

i am only playing gaming in like window mode 1280x720 atm og using it as decoding of blu-ray, h264/x264/ccv1 codec and i what i have seen in tests it even does well at 1920x1080 and not that much lower than GTX 670 but have the same amount of cuda cores.

so which should i go with all 3 under 310euro's shipped to my door.

I would go DCII personally but the MSI comes at a close second.

2GB is plenty for anything up to 1080p, but the best deal in 660 Tis right now is the Newegg rebate on the Giga for $285. It performs on par with the ASUS and MSI and only the ASUS beats it on noise and temps, but just barely.

Need I remind you that the 670 that stole the show was the non ref, ref priced Giga Windforce, and this one has the Windforce 2 cooler.

That said, the Giga or EVGA OCed 660s are an even better deal at $230. The 660 Ti is actually a bit over-built CUDA core wise for resolutions beyond 1080p, and that's the ONLY area where it exceeds the 660 in it's hardware specs. That's why in most benches at 1080p the 660 Ti only beats it by a frame or two.

Can I throw in a question... What's the difference between the GTX 660 and the GTX 660Ti?

So if I'm to buy I really should try aim for the Ti model, it's a little more than the £200 mark I was aiming for, would I see the difference to be fair?

Ill let you decide that. the GTX660ti is 7% faster then the Asus 660 DirectCUII card on average

No more ASUS 660 Ti TOPs around though, they stopped making them I guess. Hardware Canucks did a shootout containing that card, and although it won on OCing, the Giga won on temps and was barely edged out by the TOP on noise, which indicates were the TOP given enough fan speed to match the temp of the Giga, they'd be dead even on both.

It was also rather enlightening that although the TOP pulled ahead on ave frames when OCed, it also had more of a tendency to fluctuate a lot in frame rate, in many spots dipping below that of the competition. The Giga was the clear winner at factory settings and since it more stable than the TOP was on frame rates even when OCed, I would have called it the overall winner, esp considering the lower price.

The review sites tend to rate with the mindset of an extreme OCer though, no matter the tradeoffs.

This review shows the Giga edging out the MSI.

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...alaxy-msi.html

It's faster, cooler, and quieter. Also more stable in it's frame rate window than the ASUS TOP. The only slight negative was a flimsy feeling cooler shroud, but I argue that a shroud if too large can just trap more heat.

MSI has best bang for buck on MBs, but on GPUs I lean toward Giga lately.
