Steams new system sucks

Idk when they did this but man it sucks so bad now imo.. You can't click on a game in your game list anymore and go to the actual forum for it.. If you click go to forum it takes you to some DA discussion page that is nothing but ranting.. Usually the forum offers some help if you have issues but these pages don't even include the forum information. Just pointless BS..

Also steam just recently ninja added some garbage that only allows you to download one game at a time now.. Wow, way to destroy a working system steam.. FAIL....

To top it off they put just about anything up for sale and don't even give a shit about if it's working or not..
I bought this "I am alive" game and it won't even run, there is supposed to be controller support for it but it also doesn't work. Not that it matters because my gtx 680 system just gets the error "Error680 gtx not supported" then it stops installing. So I can't even launch the game.. Been like that for weeks..

Way to take a great system and turn it to crap steam.. Fire whoever is making these decisions..

So you're telling me you can click on a game in your game list still and it actually takes you to the forum like it should? It doesn't take you to some bogus "Discussion" page?

its always been when the game doesnt have its own forum it links to the general discssuion page. And check ur download settings.

Dude, there is no "download setting" that says "download only one game at a time"
If you see one, please by all means point it out.. I checked my download settings..

I've just tried a bunch of mine and the forum button works fine for me. Also just downloaded empire total war and borderlands 2 at the same time.. so i dunno what to tell u

Same here, Dota 2 test and Team Fortress (only games I can find which are not dl'ed on my Steam), works with both of them downloading at the same time.

Arrg.. wtf?! I found some malware and removed it but It's still not working right for me.. ugh.. I'm just going to reinstall it all I think.. idk what's going on here but something isn't right..

It could be something on my end.. But that forum links to games going to lame discussions page still exists for me.. I can't get to the main topics without manually tracking them down.

I'm still stuck downloading one game at a time..

Max. Cable/Fiber 10 mb, set to Miami and I live in Broward, Florida, about 30 min from Miami..

I can confirm that the forum link in steam games now link to the "new" community discussion section of the steam site and not the regular forums like they used to.

However, I can download multiple games at once. But I believe that now depends on the load of the current server you are connected to(I'm US - Chicago) and your selected internet connection speed in the settings -> Downloads + Cloud. If the server you are connected to is highly loaded it will only allow you to download one thing at a time.

It is the Detailed view of the games list. I don't see the point in using the standard games list over the detailed view honestly. In the top right it says VIEW and has 3 buttons. The far left button is detail view, which is all anyone should use, the middle is the List view, which is stupid, and the right button is the Grid view which is a total waste.

I've got that problem with the forum pages too. It sends me to a page with a few discussion topics and a collage of screenshots of which only half of them will load. Most likely they're making some changes and just haven't updated the client itself yet. I just search 'game name' STEAM forum on google and the old forums are all still there.

And I hear you on the indie game thing, that's what they are trying to address with the new STEAM greenlight. I haven't had any problems fortunately but I have a friend who buys a lot of indie games and he's been burned about 5 times now. You could always try contacting STEAM support about it, you might get some help from them. I've heard they've improved their support over the years when it comes to getting refunds for broken games.

Also to add to the confusion I have I am alive and the controller works. The only thing that bugs me is that the right stick doesn't work but thats been discussed to death in the net threads I've found. I believe theres discussion about a program called xpadder that lets you map the controller buttons.

Sometimes, if its an older game, you need to downgrade your audio bit rate, ie to 48,000 hz dvd or cd quality, as the game wont work if the bitrate audio is too high, thats what i ahve found anyways, mainly with older titles.

I tried out the new steam thing too, and im disappointed about the download option too now.[it seems like i can only have 3 going at once, rest are suspended?]

You could sign into steam on another comp and transfer the game over to your hdrive? or put a diff gpu in then try?

Thats not good to hear!

The I Am Alive issue isn't anything related to Steam, blaming Steam for it is stupid. Ubisoft is responsible for making sure the game works. Plus there is a workaround for it to disable the hardware compatibility check.
