You can run infinite instances of furmark so... see you in round 2. I didn't even underclock my CPU or do much tweaking for a score of 8 so I'm pretty confident for round 2.. cept for these guys who already know their setup for a score of 1.. I'm gonna have to start running midnight of the first night of round 2.
i think only the winners of the first round are qualified for the 2nd round ?

Congrats. I bet it took forever to run the bench and a real pain in the ass to submit a score with a machine that slow

Of course it depends on the resolution! Anything above 2 instances of 400x300 would crash (driver crash/bsod/black screen and reboot) my machine after GT1.

SECOND ROUND RULES
Only 3Dmark 2003 default settings but the resolution (now done @ 640x480) would be accepted

License keys were sent to second round winners in order to be able to change the resolution.
All game tests including nature test must be supported and completed All scores with N\A FPS won’t be accepted and the scores must be higher than 0,00FPS Same hardware configuration must be used from the first round.
The benchmark score must have been made during the second round competition period The project name should include "PowerColor PIMP MY RIG"
More than one user share the lowest score, the first submission will win The link must be active right after the end of the competition in order to validate, you can submit the score and link before even if the link is not active on the Futuremark Run test, register on Futuremark website, submit and win Only the first round finalist can participate and must enter the code you got from your winning submition email on the next entries.
You can submit multiple times different scores (the lowest is the one that counts) Submitions with any non default settings changed (besides the resolution) will make the user to be disqualified.
PowerColor will work with FutureMark to check for any cheating.
Second and final round with the finalist start to compete on the 20th 10AM CET and ends on the 24th 10AM.

THE WORST COMBINED SCORE WOULD GET YOU A POWERCOLOR SPECIALY PIMPED ULTRA LIMITED EDITION HD7990 Devil13 AND ALL THE GOODIES FROM FIRST ROUN

Round one rule explaination

Can someone please explain me this round one rule?
"The link must be active right after the end of the competition in order to validate, you can submit the score and link before even if the link is not active on the Futuremark"
How can you submit a score and link before it's active on the Futuremark site?? Doesn't they avoid exposure on the internet if you don't active it?

Here is the winner announcement:

http://www.powercolor.com/event/PimpMyRig/winner.htm

I'm really happy!

For those interested here is my setup and how I did these scores.

The System is an old P2 with 512MB of ram and a Geforce 5200 agp video card.

First I've forced the antialias and anisotropic filter to the max in the driver, then one of the gpu caps viewer tests to slow everything down, the opengl 1.2 test (furmark doesn't run on this old hardware).

Here is a little trick, I used atitool to underclock the gpu, with atitool I've created 4 frequency profiles, one for every game test, and then associated a hotkey to be able to change the frequency while a test is loading, this way could run every game test with a different clock.

By the way, it takes a really long time to find the right frequencies, the 4 tests takes about one and a half hour to complete.

Congradulations!

Similar to my method and similar card. I got driver crashes every time I changed the clock profile.

nice and congratz, unfortunately atitool didnt support the HD4870 series and had to stick with msi's afterburner for reducing clocks and the lowest i got were 350 core / 400ish mem.

1 and a half hour is not bad considering it took me well over that for the first four tests. Idk, maybe it was the Furmark load? or the cpu priority

Things i did to lower the score:

1. Run 3dmark, Furmark, Kombuster together on 1 core, with max settings and resolutions.
2. Force max AA/Aniso through catalyst.
3. Lower priority for 3dmark.
4. Underclock CPU to 1200mhz (couldnt go lower)
5. Underclock GPU to 350 core / 400ish mem

couldve modded the bios to lower clocks, but the real killer was the slow load times for the tests and i decided to give up
