ELSA Rolls Out GeForce GTX 680 Hybrid Graphics Card

ELSA announced its newest high-end graphics card, the GeForce GTX 680 Hybrid. Available in 2 GB and 4 GB variants, the card features a slightly modified NVIDIA reference design PCB, and Arctic Accelero Hybrid air+liquid cooling solution. The cooler uses a combination of closed-loop liquid block and fan-heatsinks to cool the GPU, memory, and VRM areas of the PCB.

Both 2 GB and 4 GB variants of the ELSA GTX 680 Hybrid ship with 1006 MHz core, 1124 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.28 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory. The cards draw power from 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Display connectors include two dual-link DVI, and one each of DisplayPort and HDMI. The cards are 4-way SLI-capable. Slated for October 12, the 2 GB ELSA GTX 680 Hybrid is priced at 64,800 JPY (US $830), while the 4 GB variant will go for 72,800 JPY (US $933.12). In related news, ELSA also announced a single-slot, low-profile graphics card based on the GeForce GT 640. The card sticks to NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 900 MHz core, 1.80 GHz memory, and packs 1 GB of DDR3 memory. It is priced at 9,980 JPY (US $127).

830 bucks for a card that costs 500 as reference and hybrid costs 170.
Sweet pricing right there folks, would buy a container full of them and be a happy customer. /sarcasm.

Thats a pretty hefty premium. Why don't they just do the simple 1+1 what they cost at any retailer and slap a warranty on it. Pretty sure they would still make quite large profit and draw in more price conscious customers

I recall reading that ELSA sells in Japan, prices there are higher, correct me if I'm being wrong

Still that's a hefty premium :|

almost 1000 bux for a water cooled single video card, screw that SLI would give better gains for 1000 bux and be air cooled!

At that price, I am guessing, they are hoping not to sell too many.
