Canadians - where do you buy your parts/prebuilts from?

A Canadian friend of mine needs a new computer for The Sims 3 and all its expansion packs.
She doesn't know how to assemble parts herself, so she was looking for a pre-built.

Anyone can suggest some good online shops in Canada?

She was looking at this, but personally I think that's way overpriced for a pc with a GT640 (isn't that rather a weak card?)
And 16GB RAM? That's a tad overkill isn't it?

Which components would you suggest for a Sims 3 machine?

I believe they do custom builds under the PC Builder section, so you can pick out the parts, use their check compatibility tool to check them, and then they charge $50 to assemble everything for you.

I try to use "Canada Computers" most often, as those guys are great, have awesome service(way better than any other store i've dealt with over hte last 12 years), and easily beat out any of my local options.

For high-end stuff I buy local, at Memory Express, who will also ship anywhere in Canada too. I just like to be able to take my stuff back if broken when spending more than $500. Memory Express is the big "Any price can be beat" store, but the sales guys suck in 90% of cases, and stock listings are never accurate. There's a couple good staff at each store though.

There is NCIX, but besides that, there is Direct Canada, a sister company to NCIX, with lower prices.

^^ THIS. I live in kingston and have access to one. The staff are friendly and smart and for the most part they dont try to push higher priced stuff on you. The only other place i will use is Newegg.ca

Ncix.com. I always check prices at the other places, ncix beats them 95% of the time.

As a Canadian i try to support my local shops as often as possible and those would be CanadaComputers, PCvillage, iTXCanada (New to me but excellent service/shipping!!) and PremierComputerCanada...

I have used NCix.ca in the past but they lost me as a customer thanks to their "NEW" business practices. Take deposists, promise delivery, and customer receives NOTHING in the end. Not even a return of the deposit!

Newegg.ca has been used a couple times, but only sparingly, like if i can't find it anywhere else lol

I have used other stores too but only once so...

Edit: It made me lol to see the Americans reccomending American sites to Canadian shoppers lol

I get 90% of my computer stuff from either Canada Computers or NCIX. My only bad experience was my first order with NCIX. It took them a month to get me my Thermalright SI-120 which was in stock the whole time. No problems since.

I also hear positive things about memoryexpress.

Tigerdirect, factorydirect, and directcanada also come to mind.

Neverseen a sales guy call "Next!" see the person, then walk away and not come back?

Saw that recently, dude didn't say nothing either, just walked off and walked out the front door. But meh..douches exist everywhere.

I find www.directcanada.com has great prices and free shipping, I use them most of the time. I also use www.newegg.ca if I can't find what I want on direct canada.

I have used www.computers-canada.ca as well. I bought scythe gentle typhoons on there and other fans.

Sounds like NCIx to me, AMIRITE??

Ask me how I know What I posted was merely scratching of the surface... At this point I want my time back from the transaction, nevermind the deposit and the travelling fees

Edit: I'm in Ontario Dave so the douches are everywhere!
