I was looking through craiglist and saw this 3570k, he said he used it for about a month. Is worth it?

If it's legit, looks like a pretty nice deal. You say it's used for a month and the CG add says opened but never used/removed... I'd probably bite if I were going 1155 for gaming.

I've purchased several used CPUs with success. I'd try and get one that hasn't been highly OCed, but CPUs are tough and are far less likely than a motherboard or RAM to just die. For a motherboard, a warranty is great, but I feel far less need for one on a CPU.

You can snag one at Microcenter for that price. Isnt there one near Fresno?

EDIT: LOL, no... hmm.. Tigerdirect recently had it for that price.. Keep an eye out.

I also bought a used 2600k last year here at TPU, and it has been perfectly fine, stable and without issue. I admit, I was worried at first, just because I had never bought a used CPU before, but it came looking brand new and it functioned just the same

Every CPU I have owned since my E5200 has been used and not one out of around 30-50 ever died or was DOA.

As long as it wasn't abuse as in LN2 or pushed to its limits in OCing then they will last you forever!

Hate to be the one to break it to you, but the nearest MC to you is now in SoCal. The Silicon Valley Microcenter closed a couple months ago- lease issues.
