budget ssd vs none budget ssd
is the performance worth the extra money? i would be coming from a hard drive from 2007 with a windows score of 5.9 (if that means anything to you)
i've seen a 120gb OCZ Solid 3 for £52 and i was wondering if it would be better to get that one or spend £10-20 more and buy a 60/64gb one? ANY help (either telling me to get that one because it's a good price or suggesting others) is greatly appreciated also are OCZ reliable? they seem to have a few 120gb drives for under the £80 mark, which kind of makes me weary of there build quality and performance also if you're interesed in helping me: http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-...850gb-180gb%29 is the site i'm looking at! |

OCZ would be the last brand of SSD I'd buy.

for SSD 1st take a look at the speed, budget ssd has lower speed but you may not see the difference since its couples times faster than hdd.
2nd MTBF where budget ssd may tagged lower than other 3rd. price/Gb

There are a few OCZ lines which are lemons, but others are fine. I am not sure which one, you will have to look it up.
Also, keep an eye here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/computers/deals/hot Lots of good SSD deals if you wait. |

Samsung makes both fast and reliable drives!
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/128gb...320mb-s-pc-mac That one doesn't come with the 2.5/3.5 adapter, but it's still a great ssd |

What 60/64GB drives now sell for £70+
+1 on Samsung or Corsair, I am rocking a corsair Force 3 240GB after upgrading from an OCZ Vertex 2 90GB (which didn't die might I add and was as fast the last day I used it as it was the first day) |

From what i understand, the price you pay is usually relevant to the quality of the nand you get .

Until you hit the stores and try to compare between last year's models, this years models, premium lines, budget lines, etc. In many cases, you have very decent last year models cheaper than the budget this year's models and outperforms it etc.

I should have said the type of controller too as a btw, ie sandforce indilinx etc etc. as youd know already. and sometimes specs on paper dont give real world perf or long term perf characteristics or typical usage scenarios.
