Hey! Glad to see another content generator here on TPU. I just finished a 2+ hour thorough bit of Dishonored. Check out the recording of my live stream http://www.twitch.tv/slumbering/b/335039989

If anyone wants to learn to do stuff like this or just talk about their own exploits please check out the link in my sig (not heatware ).

Which one of us man?

::EDIT:: Not to waste posts. For streaming to Twitch I use FFsplit. For recording straight to the PC I will use Dxtory and encode with FFmpeg.

If you record footage etc etc check out the *UNITE* streamers and content providers on TPU! club in my signature. Talk about yourself and what you do there.

Just started playing this yesterday. It has a lot of familiarities of other games I've played, such as Legendary, Bioshock, and even Assassin's Creed to a small degree. When I picked up where I left off today, I just couldn't stand the dated graphics anymore, so I went about digging into the system settings values in the config and was pleasantly surprised with the results. It's still not like going to HD textures, but you can improve AF quite a bit along with the lighting quality and overall quality. I hope Bethesda pushes the developer to make an HD texture pack like they did for Skyrim.

Been playing it quite a bit more, pretty engaging game. I have some finalized tweaks after some testing if anyone is interested. Makes the game look much better.

This is for W7. First you need to go to Documents\My Games\Dishonored\DishonoredGame\Config. Make a folder inside that folder and name it Default Engine. Now copy and paste the contents of the file called DishonoredEngine.ini and put it in that folder. This is to first backup the file before editing it.

Now open DishonoredEngine.ini and do an Edit\Find search for SystemSettings. In that tree you can set AmbientOcclusion to True, MaxAnisotropy to 16, DetailMode to 4, and MaxMultisamples to whatever your system can handle. The last one is AA for those whom don't know. I use 2 @ an in-game res of 1600x900 with my mediocre card. You may want to use 4 or even 8 depending on your card.

Just a bit of warning. I don't advise setting bUseMaxQualityMode to True. I tried it and although frame rates were OK, it caused an odd illumination bug whereby a very faint flood light effect appears on the ground moving with you with the edges looking strangely shadowed. I've seen something similar before in a poorly implemented flashlight mod of Doom 3.

I can't believe how much better the game looks with just these few tweaks. It really makes the game world more immersive.

Dude, thanks so much for this. Just edited the file and I'm gonna play it when I got home. Was running awesome on my work laptop (what I'm using for the time being) so I wonder how this will make it run...hopefully not too bad lol. Thanks again!

No problem, it might run well even on your laptop. The game is optimized pretty well. I'd be careful with how much AA you use depending what model laptop you have though.

The only disadvantage I saw with this game was too much repetitiveness

Works great at 8AA actually! Didn't notice any framerate drops (except when you first load in). Got to play another hour last night, looks a good amount better, not bad at all, but still not a huge fan of the blurry/blotched texture look. Can't wait to play some more this weekend on my real rig.

Bhahahaha that was funny as hell when you failed at "hide and seek" Duke!!!! I laughed out load man. I would have done the exact same thing bro.

This game is just frigging awesome! Reminds me so much of Oblivion although on steroids. LOLOL

But man, getting framed for a crime that Corvo doesn't do is crazy!

Of course getting out of the jail cell works right into the plot LOL. Kind of like Oblivion as well.....Frigging awesome!

Very cool that Corvo can take down people with non-lethal ways!

Great job Nukem on the take down of the guard I might add. Of course a valiant try on the sneak. Sucks they seen ya man. However you did a great job once in the prison yard! :-) No "electric pulse around their heads" during that part of the video. And a great job of getting out to the last guard that you choked. :-)

But of course in the end ya really F'd up shooting that dude once getting through the door.

All in all an excellent video Nukem!!!!!! Enjoyed it very much. Do want this game as it sooooooooo reminds me of Oblivion and Skyrim! Can't wait to see who actually wins this puppy.

@Durv,
Uh, yeah, I know, was just yankin yer chain cuz you put a ? at the end without needing to.

@Guitar,
I hope you're monitoring those LT temps, those things aren't exactly abundant with airflow space.

I'm at the part where you start seeing more of those elusive assassins. Art looks a bit something like some of the stuff in the better parts of RAGE. The weapons are a lot more fun to use with upgrades man. I also enjoyed rummaging about at the Boyle party. Miniature whale statues that spray confetti out of their blowholes, ingenious. I signed the guest register just to mock those rich prudes. LOL
