New Build GPU Advice!

Hey so i'm going to be builing a new gaming rig in a couple of weeks and i can't decide which gpu to go for out of these two,

ASUS GTX 650 Ti or ASUS HD 6850 DIRECT CU II

I'm gearing more towards the GTX 650 TI as it uses PCI-Express 3.0 and the 6850 is only 2.1 plus there is only a £5 difference in price.

Specs will be:

CPU: i5-3570K
Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V
Ram: GSkill 8GB Ripjaw X 1600Mhz DDR3
PSU: Antec TruePower 650W (Open to suggestions on a better Hybrid-Modular psu arround £60-70 atleast 600w, Dual 12v Rails @ 40amps and above)

Will mainly be used for gaming, i will be doing some overclocking on the cpu for benchies just to see what scores i can achieve etc, not too bothered about overclocking the gpu aslong as it doesn't run too hot an i get decent enough fps that i am able to run an intensive dx11 on medium @ settings720p/1080p res.

Open to suggestions on a better gpu than these two arround £120-130 budget max.

Thanks

System Specs

The GTX 650 Ti FTW
its newer, more efficient and will most likely smoke the 6850. What part of the world do you live in?

Since OPs budget is max £120-130, the only card would be the 650Ti. It also comes with Assassin's Creed III.

the HD 7850 1GB is pretty cheap here $164.99 so it shouldn't be that bad there and it outperforms the GTX 650 Ti by a good margin or you can get a HD 6870

MSI HD 7850 1GB £134.98

or

XFX Double D HD 6870 £118.42

Thanks looks like i might go for a MSI HD 7850 oc but its out of stock here :/ i'll have to look else where, the blue on it will go nice with my theme . I might just spend an extra £15 and get this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-154-MS&tool=3 if the deal is still on in 2 weeks that is.

Is anyone else sort of bored with the recent graphics industry? Back in the day I would eagerly await new benchmarks and releases.

I suppose this is due to the fact that cards 3 generations old can max everything out today, so there is nothing to look forward to.

that's kind of ironic as i recently had a XFX HD 4870 1GB until i upgraded to my HD 6950 2GB just a month or 2 ago.

it was able to play games on high and some ultra on 1280x720

Yes, if you can afford it the 7850 1GB is definitely a much better card.

Yeah that'll be the auto-fan adjust option in Catalyst mine got pretty hot but when i set the fans manually to 58% as i could'nt bare the noisey fans anymore it still worked fine arround 85c+ if i remember correctly, saying that though idk about BF3 .
