OCUK Launches Windows 8-Equipped Gaming Desktops

Ahead of the much anticipated launch of Windows 8, Overclockers UK are pleased to announce the launch of Windows 8 editions of a selection of their bestselling PCs. With system choices to appeal to all, from casual home users to hardcore gamers, customers can pre-order a brand new Windows 8 PC today.

There is no denying that the entirely new Windows interface is a big change, but behind the flashy new interface, you’ll be pleased to find that Windows 8 successfully builds on everything you loved about Windows 7. A major benefit of Windows 8, is that it is an operating system that works seamlessly across all of your devices, from your desktop PC through to your touch screen tablet and it’s also slick, quick and highly customisable.

With Windows 8, it really does pay to get hands on as that’s the best way to discover the plethora of new features. The main change you will notice is with the start screen, and live tiles which can be personalised, ensuring that the interface is fluid, fast and fun to use. Windows 8 edition PCs from Overclockers UK, have been hand-picked and represent some of their most popular systems, and now Windows 8 is an option available across their full range of PCs! All Overclockers UK Windows 8 PCs can be pre-ordered now and will be shipped on the official launch date of 26/10/2012.

For those wanting to try before they buy, the brand new Overclockers UK shop in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, will provide ample opportunities for customers to get hands on and try the new interface for themselves. Customers are invited in-store to get hands on from Saturday 27th October, and will be given the chance to win copies of Windows 8!

Overclockers UK are also currently running a Windows upgrade offer, which allows customers to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for just £14.99. Anyone who purchases a qualifying Windows 7 system from Overclockers UK between 2nd June 2012 and 31st January 2013, will be eligible and can find more information out here: http://bit.ly/VYvwhg

There is no point in getting Windows 8 when it first comes out (and use it) as 6 months or a year later it will be annoying installing it for a new PC build because of the numerous amount of updates that needs to be done.

For what it is worth you would probably be better off waiting sometime later for Windows 8 SP1 assuming anyone really wants to leave Windows 7 which seems to be good at the moment.

first of all, what makes a case windows 8 equipped?

second of all, windows 8 with the start button software which essentially disables metro runs faster than windows 7 for me.

Unless it: boots up, makes my coffee and digs up a million ounces of Gold in less time to mention it; I don't care how fast it loads.

I'm sitting this one out (like I did Vista) and maybe I'll consider Win 9 unless a Linux distro can install and run games with as many (less would be better) hoops than I have to jump through on Win 7.

I think people fail to realize the advantages of win8 simply because of the UI

Yes metro is inefficiency and clunky for non-touch devices but the performance enhancements across the board FAR out way that negative UI. win7 is great, IMO the best version of windows to date, but win8 is even better.

it took me a few months of playing around with it though to realize this. the UI annoyances go away after a while, and you can replace the start menu to a more desktop feel if you really want anyway. but the only advantage win7 has over win8 is UI, if anyone says anything about "win7 is better at win8 at (topic)" then i don't think they have tried win8.

for gaming I think win8 is going to be amazing! and can't wait to put it on my second SSD as a pure gaming boot OS

just install classic shell and be done with it. windows 8 is hands down better than windows 7 once you install classic shell.
