I wouldn't think 120v from caps could be fatal. The amperage would have to be sustained, so if it is unplugged from the wall it would only be a nice quick shock. I've worked on a CRT monitor while it was powered on even that shock didn't kill me. Maybe I just got really lucky?

It doesn't take many amps to kill a human, it takes only 100 - 200 mA (0.1-0.2 A) to give you severe burns and knock you unconscious. It'd probably take less for me due to hereditary heart issues. A good read: http://www.physics.ohio-state.edu/~p...l_current.html
