Seasonic Unveils the New X-Series 650 W, 750 W and 850 W Power Supplies

The new X-650, X-750 and X-850 models feature our unique integrated DC connector panel with onboard VRM (Voltage Regulator Module). This feature not only enables ideal DC-to-DC conversion and reduced current loss but it also includes Fully Modular DC Cabling to ensure forward compatibility and flexible integration. The already tight voltage regulation has further been improved from ±3 to ±2%, which results in higher efficiency and better performance.

An important feature of the X-650, X-750 and X-850 units is the state of the art cooling that also enables absolute silent running. For manual control, however, there is a selector switch on the modular cable plug side of the PSU, which enables the user to select between traditional fan control (S2FC) and the semi-fanless mode (S3FC). In S3FC mode the fan will only start spinning at loads above 20% of the maximum load. This particularly efficient fan control design is complemented by top quality Sanyo Denki San Ace fans, which are considered to be one of the best on the market today. Are all cables sleeve free. So cumbersome for MITX and collects dust to have 24 pin cable sleeved.

They can be enhanced even more with DSP. But it is nextgen. seasonic don't have it yet.

I've asked this elsewhere, but I'll ask you folks here too. What currently is the benefit of DSP. Is there really any performance benefit for the AX1200i over the X-1250? I'm not asking if it measures better. I mean will my computer, in any useful way, perform better with the AX1200i in it?

The true benefit of DSP will to be able to get better performance from lower cost designs. As it is now though it just makes PSU's more expensive. Also, I don't like adding software control where it isn't needed. It's just another layer of complexity. We have individual components throttling and adjusting voltages. We have Windows turning stuff on and off, up and down. Now we're going to have our PSU's also controlling system power usage. Since no 2 setups are exactly the same, I can just see more blue/black/green screens of death, problems recovering from sleep, video driver crashes, etc. because of it. All of this for 1/2% better regulation and 5mv less ripple.

its your choice honestly no one is forcing you to get this component, this is where the rest of the market is headed to. Id honestly get a 750 W unit
