Silverstone SST-PS08B Micro-ATX Case Detailed
Silverstone released an entry-level micro-ATX case, the Precision Series PS08B. Built primarily of SECC-steel and ABS plastic, the case measures 168mm (W) x 355mm (H) x 400mm (D), weighing about 3.5 kg. The PS08B includes a handy innovation - the 3.5-inch drive cage is shifted towards the left-hand side facing front, which allows graphics cards to pass right through. As a result, cards as long as 14.1-inch (35.8 cm) can be installed, provided they're less than 5.7-inch (14.47 cm) tall. The case features a total of two 5.25-inch, four 3.5-inch, and two 2.5-inch drive bays.
The motherboard tray of the PS08B supports micro-ATX and mini-ITX form-factors. A large cutout decks the CPU socket area, for easy access to CPU coolers with back-plates. Ventilation includes one 120 mm front intake, and one 80 mm rear exhaust. The utility panel includes USB 3.0 (standard header) and audio jack (HD audio header). Slated for market release in late-October, the PS08B is priced at 3,980¥ (US $50). ![]() Source: Hermitage Akihabara |

I looks well featured and is priced very well, but the front of that case is pretty ugly, that's 2 new cases from Silverstone, that have all the nice high quality Silverstone touches, and then front is so horrible looking it's like they were designed by someone that hates the company.

I see more than an inch of clearance. Enough room to bend even the toughest cables.
Plug in the cables, then insert the graphics card, bend the cables as you're inserting; and not install the card and then attempt to plug in the cables. Not rocket science, really. |

MATX wasnt meant for that, more like HTPC. MATX is crippled as of expansion primarily, so they dont require massive PSUs to function, which is good to a point.

+1 to cramped. However, I'm saying that in a positive tone, so more like "cozy" - at least with a high-end mATX setup. For mITX, it's quite roomy.
Unfortunately the outside just isn't doing it for me so I'd use it for neither purpose. |

Why are all new Silverstone cases so ugly? Are people attracted to this now?

i am not happy with the looks (front panel aesthetically).. quirky parts of design are front & rear panels .. at front, intake mesh is not 'flush' with ODD covers.. while at the rear, the MB I/O panel & expansion slot openings are flush with the rest of the panel(which makes the add-on card screws to jut outside!)..
packaging seems tight but doable, cooling might be adequate as long as the HDD cage is not full.. i prefer the PS07 thanks.. |

...The front sucks, the layout sucks, this whole case sucks. The only way to save these poor cards is either WaterCool (No room for that) or just go with one card...

I said it about the SG09 and now I'm even more convinced...Silverstone lost some designers somewhere along the way. They are spawning some ugly, ugly children these days.

This is disappointing. Antec 300 with less fan slots and uglier front.

Contrary to the opinions of the others here, I quite like the front fascia. Reminds me, somewhat, of the HP Z-series workstation towers.

I think Silverstone has become a bit like honda recently. Still remain very practical and a quality product (in the most part) with some pretty cool features, but are butt ugly or just plain boring. Silverstone really must have lost some designers in the recent months.

Good luck installing the cables there. Yet alone running a decent demanding game like BF3 without throttling like never before.
PR fail right there, not really product fault. Showed setup isn't what this case is designed for. What is product fault is the ugly exterior looks. I would take TJ08-E over that thing any day.
