Input lag with Adaptive V-sync on ?!

I got input lag when playing borderlands 2 with adaptive v-sync on... isn't adaptive V-sync supposed to get me rid of that problem?

I use 2x gtx 670 in SLI...

In the past, I dealt with input lag by Capping my FPS to 59 when I was using crossfire and v-sync... and it worked like a charm... I was gettin the benefits of V-sync and avoiding the input lag @ the same time...

I thought Adaptive v-sync would do the same for me... but apparantly, the only way for me to get rid of the input lag when playing borderlands 2 in SLI with adaptive v-sync, is to use the "in-game" 60 fps cap, alongside the adaptive v-sync...

all this seems weird to me... any ideas ??

Adaptive V-Sync is broken. And has been since launch. Don't use it.

Thank God I know about the FPS capping trick to get rid of stuttering and input lag... otherwise, I'd be quite mad

Not.

Adaptive VSync is a smart VSync on option that has two goals, eliminate tearing, and eliminate the sudden stuttering and FPS drop.

Is it better to run Borderlands 2 in gtx 670 SLI or use 1 of them cards as a dedicated physx card?

Programs that measure FPS don't go by your monitor's refresh rate. It goes by what your video card is actually outputting.

It's been shown again and again that with PhysX games it is better to run in SLi. Heck with Borderlands 2 my 3770K can handle PhysX on high.

I run the game maxed out at 1920x1200, framerate is set to unlimited, and v-sync in game is set to ON.

I leave SLI enabled at all times, PhysX is set to HIGH in game. I have no input lag to speak of whatsoever. Had to turn sensitivity down to 30 I believe as it was set way too high for me at stock settings on my R.A.T.7

You sound mad? its going to be a while before Nvidia pushes Devs for games to support TXAA. The concept behind Adaptive vsync is great, but it has some problems, that can be fixed in drivers. And with physX that shit has always been crappy, but I do like some of the effects it gives games such as Borderlands 2.

Is it still busted with the very latest 306.97 driver?

I had the same problem... I just turned it off... i use whatever is built into the game or just force vsync on rather than use the adaptive

somehow, the best fluid performance I can get in borderlands 2 is by using the "in-game" v-sync with the 60fps limiter (in-game option). This is with 1x card dedicated to phys-x and the other runnin the game... smooth as silk as of right now... a few drops to 54 fps sometimes but almost 60fps all the time...

I'm gonna try the same settings with sli enabled instead of dedicated and see what happens.
thanks for the input

if your getting 120FPS on a 60Hz screen tearing would be there but very minimal since it divides fairly evenly most of the time. The screen will just drop every other frame, as opposed to getting 93FPS for example would usually tear more than 120 FPS. Just my experience with my LG TV and the year and a half spent playing BC2 at well over 100FPS.

Why would I lie about adaptive vsync?
It does what it's supposed to do: disable vsync when your fps falls below the monitor refresh rate. As for FXAA, I cannot lie. It does look good in most games.

I tried Adaptive V-Sync in a few games when I had my GTX 660, it worked in gameplay a lot of times just fine, but cut scenes tore and ripped awful... enable reg vsync and it went away tho.

FXAA has advantage in games that are designed for it, Made to many of my FPS games look blurry to me.
