The churchill is in the game as a premium tank, so is the Matilda

lol $$$. And you're talking about the Matilda Mk I. Which isn't really good. Hence I specifically said II.

I thought it would be like Blacklight: Retribution where buying things just meant getting them earlier. Looks like there are "exclusives" for your money.

Well the premium tanks come with 100% crew and fully upgraded, and are very good at making credits, so they do have a use.

Hummel you say? Is a nice piece of arty. Try Priest if you're a masochist or something.

[H]@RD5TUFF it was a figure of speech. Sometimes you'll have a pinpoint accuracy sometimes your shell flies anywhere but where you aim. Take a look when you have some spare time.
But nevertheless BL-10 was the most feared gun in the game until the newcomers T10 TD's arrived...
My favorite is the frenchie tier 5 arty and the SU14, although the T92 is great fun for a while with its power and splash damage radius, that is until you realise that you can go cook dinner in the reload time

Worst thing about the harsh MM is that I think it's by design. Not sure of the correctness of the wiki, but SPG's are heavily weighted it seems. :S

My big reason to not like my SU 26 much. Being tier 3 with half or more of the enemy team being tier 5 and 6 is not too much fun. :S
(Perhaps the big gun I just got on it will help a bit.)

Awesome game nonetheless.

Edit: Haven't tried higher tiers, so don't have much experience with the MM there.

The British tanks are coming in the next update, you can already test them in the common test server http://worldoftanks.com/news/1686-81-public-test-1/

Italian, Japanese , and more tanks will come later.

There is no Matilda I in the game. http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index....ish-tech-tree/ Just the good old Matilda II, i won't like to fight other tanks with a Vickers MG in a Matilda I

Although the premium tanks are exclusive for your money as you said, they are tanks that are really hard to master, some are average and some are just bad, and most have at least some fatal flaw. The only advantage is that they make money.

Generally speaking USSR tanks are easy mode (mostly brawlers), German tanks are normal mode (mostly snipers), US tanks are hardcore mode (nice guns on paper hull) and French tanks are guerrilla mode (hit&run, I call them my mobile artillery ).

Of course inside every nation you'll find up and down tanks but that's it.

I'd suggest to take it easy and learn one nation at a time. Explore each line (arty/TD/heavy/meds/scouts) and in the end you'll find something on your taste/style.
At lower tiers battles are intense and funny but once upping the tiers battles became more and more demanding.

Nowadays my major gripe is about teammates, it looks like they open wide the Zoo doors and every monkey is playing WoT.
Second came arty-party on high tiers so the game has almost no fun when you're nuked by 4-5 Tier 7/8 arty.
Third are some fundamental game bugs (like 0 damage crit hits and spotting system) but I can live with that.

Nevertheless the game is still fun for me despite all those flaws.

Your gameplay will define the nation you will play, you just don't know it initially. Which one is easier is determined by your gameplay and skill.

When I started.... I tended to look more at what tier 9's and 10's had to offer rather than what I would be working with tier 5 - 8, simply because all the grind comes in the latter stages, statiscially I think the most successful tier 9's and 10's belong to the US and Germany lines with the M103 and E75 at tier 9 clocking the highest win ratio's, well they did when I last looked a few weeks ago. I went germany on the heavy tank line in Beta and started with US when the game first went retail.

To be honest though all of the nations are easy for me.

Most of the time though I'm just really unlucky with my teammates. I've already seen four different instances of a teammate killing another. Not "accidentally hitting", but intentionally killing, another teammate. The last one is the most ridiculous because he then fell to the sea a few moments after doing so.

Anyway, I'm both getting US and USSR tanks, although I've been more "advanced" with the Soviets as I have a T-46 already, while I'm still at a T2 MT for the US. I got an Pz. II as an alternative. LOL

It took me ~30k battles but yesterday I've had the game of my life with my preferred tank.
In the end I was alone against one E-75 and 2 arty's.
That game made my day yesterday. Did I tell you how much I like my E-75?

My best games so far are (or the best i can remember):

1) My Jagdpanther (top tank on my team) against 2/3 of the enemy team. 12 kills always on the move, 6 or 7 of those kills completely alone. Victory!. I could use the Jagdpanther as both a sniper and a hit and run TD. IMO this TD strong point.

2) Jagdtiger killing spree, again me alone against half the enemy team except the afk Ferdi that served as a fixed scout behind a bush. I killed 10 of them, it was funny how they went crazy when they started to loose tank after tank without knowing where i was. I could use the Jagdtiger in it's perfect role as a long range sniper, the 128mm L/61 is a beauty. Unfortunately they discovered the Ferdi scout after a while and knocked him out, and the approach of a T30 leave me with no choice but to engage him while 2 enemy tanks where on the cap. So it was a defeat, but an epic one.

3) Tiger II, last tank on the field against 5 or 6 enemy tanks, Tiger II, ISU152, IS2 among them. I moved from bush to bush trying to ambush them as they closed in. Last tank was the enemy Tiger II, i only had 2 HE but they did the job.

Unfortunately i don't have screeshoots

I can clearly see from that screenie that you have spent some serious money on gold! Either that or you play 12 hours a day, 7 days a week since release

5 hours/day (in weekends 12) since Open Beta. I have a problem, I know.
I'm playing on Standard account mostly but once at 3-4 months I'm buying a month of Premium.
That's all.

Damn, clearly too much time on your hands! I manage about 6 hours a week only these days, with the occasional longer weekend session...... I think I am on around 8,500 battles.

Let's speak a little about mods. Not TPU mods but WoT modifications.
WoT is screaming for modding so devs allows you to mod it.
Below is a list with all my mods.

Some of them are cosmetics but some are must have.

Must have for me.
XVM. A controversial one. Hated by some and praised by others. For me is primary used for customizing GUI and after that about displaying statistics about players.
Look at this screenshot during a battle

I have customizable players panels (transparency and players colored by efficiency), I have a log of my hits grouped by enemies and coded by colors (attack, fire, ramming, etc) and a nice icon for dead guys by me , I have nice tank markers which tells me players efficiency and nr. of battles with that tank colored by WR with that tank, I have a nice colored flying damage done by me or by my teammates and I don't have that postmortem bar.

Jimb0's crosshair mod. One of the best crosshairs in WoT. Depends on personal taste though.

zuamgua's tank icons. Very nice icons, clean and classy.

Damage panel. Hit log with damage received and a big flashing Fire attention when you're set on fire.

Ingame clock and compass. Clock is cosmetic but compass is very useful for knowing the angles for your hull or the traverse limits for arty/TD's.

No bloom. You know that ugly bloom introduced with 0.8.0? Well no more bloom with this mod.

No fog. Again, fog was introduced with 0.8.0 and it limits your view in distance. No more fog then.
And a side note both no-bloom and no-fog has a positive impact about FPS too.

Minimap. No words here. Just try it and see with your own eyes.

Duke voice. T.H.I.S. I.S. A. M.U.S.T. Really. If you play WoT without Duke voice you already lost half of the fun.

Cosmetic mods.
Hangar clock. Plenty to choose from.
Colored after battle messages. Some nice colors instead that dull white message in hangar after battle.
Hangars. Plenty to choose.
Vertical research tree. Replace that fugly "new and improved" WG horizontal tree with a more familiar one.
No shadow in sniper view. Nice and clean screen and a little help with FPS too.

Also there are a lot of sound mods. Gun sounds, engine sounds, ambient sounds. Just check your forum section in Creativity area and you'll find them.
Also beside US/EU forums I have 2 sites which I check daily for goodies, Drongo and Mirtankov.

Hope it helps someone, someday, somewhere.
