Meh, I would actually care if he could break 5GHz as a reliable every day OC, but given the stupid heat issues AMD chips have these days I doubt that's possible.

He ran the entire benchmark suite at 5ghz...That in itself is reasonably stable. It is also only 800mhz over the turbo core. I wouldn't doubt 5.5ghz on good watercooling. I also don't know what heat issues you are having the only company that I know of right now that has heat issues is the newer series of Intel chips which produce quite a lot of heat compared to the previous generation.

dave also got 5ghz on his chip

I can also confirm running full 5GHz on all cores/blocks, on air with Noctua NH-C14 http://www.pcmhz.com/hardware-review...review?start=4 (review is in romanian, just look at results charts)
I've only included there 3DMark11 & AIDA64 since HD6850 was lagging behind in games but I had been running Lost Planet 2 benchmarks and Sniper Elite V2 benchs with no problems.

SOI process can handle it, thats how Athlon XPs can handle 2+ VCore
