Now, A Mouse That Keeps Your Palm Warm

Japanese peripherals maker Sanko unveiled a new optical mouse with a built-in heater that keeps the mouse warm, to prevent numbness to the palm in cold rooms. Called the USHOTM04, the mouse uses a low power heating coil that can make do with power draw from a single USB port. The coil can keep the mouse anywhere between 35°C - 45°C. It features four buttons, and a typical 1600 DPI sensor. Measuring 70 x 40 x 70 mm with a 1.4 m cord length, the mouse weighs about 77 g. It is priced at 1,480¥ (US $18.6).

our offices are scary cold lately because for whatever reason, the heater doesn't do a very good job of keeping us warm.

I've always needed a mouse that kept my palms cool, not warm.

This is obviously not for everyone. How about a cooling mouse for those intense gaming situations?

There used to be a mouse like that about 5 years or so ago. Not sure the name of it, who made it, or what. But it does/used to exist.

I've never heard of these babies, probably should have googled.

I went to link it earlier and had to go take care of a computer issue. (work in a hospital IT department)

You never lived in a place where outside can get freezing cold at -20C in winter I suppose, even at 20C inside hands can get very cold, upping the heating will raise a lot to the bills, so this will help greatly.

Might help if you used your PC indoors. If you get to the point where you have trouble affording heat, splurging on computer equipment is probably not a sound financial decision.

needs peltier and a variable resistor + a switch to flip the poles so it can both cool and heat. i know i could use one, my circulation sucks when i'm sitting. also sweating might not have anything to do with temperature here, my palms are always at least moist...

I think someone modded their case so that it did that.

That's funny, my house is 50° in summer if the air-conditioner is stopped.

I'm using the Celsius scale.
