Thanks guys. I usually hate using cheat codes but in this case it would make things so much easier.

There should be a guy you can hire that will do this for you...at a price.

Anyhow...thanks!

Anyone experience the texture issue I mentioned above??

Sounds like a good idea for a mod: "Two Guys and a Wagon! You skin it, we pack it! You kill 'em, we stack 'em! No job too big or small!*

*Additional fees apply for Giant Toenails and Mammoth Curds. We reserve the right to refuse service to the undead. "

I do like the building bit. Married Camilla from Riverwood (again) but she hasn't show up at the house yet.

Damn that woman! If she's off with Sven or that other milk-drinker I'll build a new shelf to mount her head on.

But if she has another one of those delicious apple pies it's ok, I guess.

By the time Dragon Born is released I'll probably be well in to Far Cry 3.
I see Skyrim has updated as well. 17.7mb

Okay peoples, I'm looking for a mod. I'm not sure it's ever been created.

But what I want to happen is for armor to be a static penalty to damage - instead of decreasing damage taken by 40% or some shit, it decreases the damage taken by 10. I think this could make it much better at late game (especially if you have the Enhanced High-Level Gameplay mod), and make smithing much more important (seeing as how there'd be no cap to damage reduction, instead of hitting the 80% barrier).

Can anyone tell me what is the best texture mod pack for the game? Something that works with Dawnguard. I don't feel like trying a bunch of them. I'll just use one that you all seem to like.

Thanks!

any combat mods? Dark Souls combat kinda spoiled me hehe, at least an animation overhaul which makes some enemies perform a more unique combat style (including yours, similar to Oblivion's Mayu Animation Overhaul)
edit:
Hmm, might as well try DUEL combat mod...

I would agree there's a very nicely re-done HD pack where the guy took the Bethesda released HD pack and redid all of the textures which although quite large looks bleedin amazing it available on the nexus from here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/607

and just a quick compare non HD to his HD

yea thats the normal map file also while the texture is clearer its not more realistic old wood that has been walked on alot doesnt crack more it actually becomes more smooth do to wear. So while the textures are clearer they are not always better

i simply extract the default textures then install the mod from their install old normal maps bam presto cleaner looking rugs without nasty ass normal maps that and i mixed and matched alot of mods. sadly between Skyrim and all the mods i had saved i was eating up like 25-30gb of space which i needed for something more important

I'm pretty sure it will be P2P.

The HD 2k mod I have used before and I am now currently using again. It's been around for a long time. It makes the out-doors looks awesome.

I've been spending too much time looking at mods and trying them out. lol

What i really need is a good smithing overhaul mod....

Thats a mod for mining. We are talking about a smithing mod such as one that overhauls the smithing perks, allows you to break down weapons to their base materials etc..

I had no idea there was a 4k mod. I've been all over the skyrimnexus and steam works page and I've seen nothing of this. I'll look harder...

The 4k is just the newest version that the same guy has made. Its still called the same thing on the nexus, skyrimhd 2k but the latest update he has 4k resolutions.

Edit: Its also like a gb at least, so too big for him to upload to steam.

Some more Edit: Theres a smithing mod called smithborn I think that adds a few perks; haven't seen anything exactly like you were saying tho.

Even more Edit: One year anniversary of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim!!! Lets all have a toast to epic!

1. Enchant ring, necklace, helmet and greaves with fortify alchemy
2. Equip them
3. Craft a Potion of Fortify Restoration
4. Drink it
5. Unequip and re-equip enchanted items. Values increase
6. Keep doing step 3, 4 and 5 untill you feel ashamed of yourself
7. Craft a Potion of Fortify Smithing and one Fortify Enchantment
8. Take weapon of choice to the grindstone, drink the Fortify Smithing first.
9. Take weapon to the arcane enchanter and add enchantment of choice (i.e. soul steal)
10. Laugh at the Daedra and govern Nirn as you see fit

Do be prepared to revert a save, this loopglitch completely breaks the game. Before starting a new character it's hilarious to see some of the potions you can make with +50,000,000% Fortify Alchemy

I gotta start playing this again. I just stopped about "halfway through" many months ago. So many places I found and did not enter too in hopes of getting a quest first...
