Galaxy Gtx 670 2gb Reference model trouble

I just bought a Gtx 670 video card and noticed it emits a slight buzz or hum from the cards. I believe this is coil whine and am wondering if anyone else has noticed this with their Gtx 670 cards? My case is ultra quiet and this sound is similar to fluorescent light bulb humming but quieter. Some websites say Gtx 670 and 680 ref models do this and it is a common issue. My 6970 lightning does not buzz at all. I am considering returning the Gtx 670, but I have to say it is a very slight sound. The fix most people suggest is vsyncing the card. This seem to quiet the buzz in some cards. My card is a beast but, to tell the truth, so is the 6970 I swapped it out for. If I return the card, what are the chances I will get one with the same issue?

I have a Galaxy 680 ref. card and I don't have any coil whine, even when OC'd + power set to 130% in precision.

Well, if I I had any fan noise in my case, you could not hear the whine at all. However, my case is very quiet and I am super picky. That being said, back it goes.

Well, I decided on a MSI twin frozr III 7870 1GHz editon and boy am I sorry. I opened the box and in the seal box found the underside of the heatsink shroud scratched. Plus, this card totally sucks at being overclocked and artifacts in Skyrim. I see zero performance gains over my 6970 and it is louder. So here we go again with a trek back to Micro Center.

Tried a 7950 that was listed in the inventory but got out their and it did not exist, so destiny tell me to keep my 6970 and be happy wtih its performance.

You can probably find a cheap used 6970 and run crossfire.

I could but no need to at Lightning settings these cards perform at their max potential. At max potential, a 6970 is in the GTX 570 performance range which is plenty of power.

My EVGA GTX670 FTW 2GB works just fine, maybe try one of them.
