Watecooling: What are the prices, complexity?

Just looking for some info on watercooling.

Thanks; is $1000 - $1500 really worth it for the performance increase?

depends if the parts are made of gold and can be melted down later to get that $1500 back

Plenty of benefits from it. I don't think I am anywhere close to $1000 let alone $1500 into mine and the loop is quite large.

If you decide you want to take the plunge (heh) maybe buy something like an XSPC Rasa kit to start. Or a used complete loop, like I did. No better way to really get "the info" you need than having everything in your hands.

Nope, not bad at all. Bought my first used loop for $150. Those are all more-than-decent components as well. Use the RX240 pump/res myself. Not the biggest and baddest pump by any means but more than good cooling at least for just a CPU. Also easy to fill and a major space-saver too that requires two less tubing pieces and fittings than separate pump and reservoir would.

And it's cheaper at Amazon by $15, FYI. Look around at other etailers too incl. the smaller specialists such as Performance PCs, Frozen CPU, Jab-Tech and Sidewinder. Even some larger etailers who don't generally carry water cooling parts may have this full kit. Microcenter and/or Fry's too.

unless you want to run 24/7 super overclocks, its not really worth it... spend the added $150 on the components and you will have a faster rig in the end.

That's what I figured. And really we're talking the extra $500 to $2000 more that would be better spent on other things.
