Occational bluescreens about DX
Hi!
Ever once in a while, 10 days, sometimes 7 days I get a bluescreen about a Directx file. I got a fresh Win7 install and newest Nvidia driver. The GFX is a ASUS GTX560Ti Top 1GB. Heaven bench and 3DMarks run fine but I´d like to know with which program I could make the bluescreen come so that I can RMA the card. The card was in the shop I bought it and they tested it but found nothing. My PSU is about 5 years old 750W, mobo is new, cpu is new and I have reseated it several times. Bios is newest. OC is stable and should not make the bluescreens since I get them even with stock settings. So with what programs I could make the card do a bluescreen? ![]() Greetz Lauri

That dump says absolutely nothing about DX. It says that kernel crashed.

Check the caused by driver section - those files are related to nvidia and dx

Hi
try this - power down your system, remove the memory; clean the memory blades with a coffee filter and isopropyl alcohol; use and air duster to clean the memory slots on the motherboard; then install each memory module one at a time and test them Bug check 0x7F typically occurs after you install a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or if installed hardware fails. The driver file that crashed is "nvlddmkm.sys" which is part of nvidia's gpu drivers. I recommend re-installing video drivers after cleaning the old ones out.
Edit: You're video card isn't overclocked is it? If it is, set it back to stock. This doesn't appear to be a system memory/cpu issue.

Turn off the OC and run her bare for a while. See if that fixes the issue. Also what are you doing when it happens? Firefox hates flash and I see that's what you are using.

I get blue-screens even with OC off. I use Firefox and Flash but i can´t recall that a blue-screen ever came while I was in FF.

What programs are you using when it happens or is it fully random? Is your DirectX updated also?
To test the card out I would give Battlefield 3 multiplayer a try. Find a good 64 player server running Firestorm and play for an hour or so. That will beat the hell out of your GPU way better then most benchmarks. |

Other then that I would say its your GPU or your PSU. Also Furmark will make your system BSOD but let me tell you it WILL burn out a perfectly good GPU. |

Turn your OC off until you figure it out. First culprit is memory. Stock clocks and run Memtest for at least 3 hours

I still need info how to force a bluescreen so that i can pinpoint the faulty component so that can RMA my mobo or GPU or CPU.
