Gigabyte Unveils GeForce GTX 660 Ti WindForce III 3 GB Graphics Card

Gigabyte unveiled a variation of its 3 GB GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC graphics card. Bearing the model number N66TWF3-3GD, the card sticks to NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 915/980/6008 MHz (core/GPU Boost/memory). It features WindForce 3 triple-fan cooler featuring three 80 mm fans, ventilating a complex heatpipe-fed heatsink. Based on the 28 nm GK104 GPU, the GeForce GTX 660 Ti packs 1344 CUDA cores, and a 192-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface. On this card, twelve 2 Gbit GDDR5 chips are used, arranged on either sides of the PCB. Expect the card to cost around 300€.

hmm? It's from Gygabyte not from Nvidia, and it's probably not even a reference PCB since it's a 3GB card.

It doesnt matter if it's reference or not, nvidia cards still charge you a tonne more for a little extra vram

Think i'll wait for the 4Gb 650Ti....afterall, the more RAM a card has the more powerful it is.

Yes it's true, but I just pointed out that the double-ram cards have nothing to do with Nvidia, because those are custom made cards from third parties.

They are not, not totally at least. Almost all of them use the GTX 680 reference PCB, like this one, while some use the GTX 670/660 Ti reference PCB. Only very few use a custom PCB, but many use a custom cooler.

WindForce 3X cooler is good. GPU isn't...

I meant that the increased price has nothing to do with Nvidia, they make and sell the reference design, and "more-ram" versions are only custom made third party cards. Or is there an official 3Gb version of the 660ti out there made by Nvidia?

ps.:But thanks for pointing out that this one is based on the 680's PCB, I didn't know that.

There are no official cards, the EVGAs card based on the GTX 670/660 Ti reference-PCB is as official as it can get but I'd consider the other ones based on the GTX 680 PCB semi-official.
