Get kid nice new USB keyboard and mouse. Don't make them work on some piece of broken sh1t. Your kid will remember that when you are old and needy. And will return the favour.

Already have a CM Storm Sentinel Zero G for a mouse. I have several keyboards laying around too, so if she IS bothered by the missing key i can hook one up

Kid: "Laptop, ... U have no ... key!"
![]() Keyboards and mice don't cost a big sum & it is almost that commercialised consumeristfest so... ![]() Edit: posted exactly at the same time (rounded to the minute).

the Y key works, just the key itself is missing, it doesnt take much to make the Y show up either.

nice, wish I could find some killer deals on my local CL. Did find a LG 46" 1080p TV the other day for $150, but I was too late. Guess I'll go search CL again. I always get this way when I get a pocket full of money(tution reembursment just came again

would this laptop benefit from upgrading to 8GB of ram? Newegg has 4gb x 2 DDR3 1066 for under $40 atm and i'm wondering if this would be a worthwhile upgrade.

Probably not for most things. That CPU, GPU, and HDD are a bit lethargic--a small SSD would be a better investment IMO.
