GPU Upgrade!

Hello again fellas. I found a very good deal on a GPU last week and the card should come anytime this week. I'm upgrading from a gtx 460se to GTX 560ti 448.
I need help regarding everything about changing GPU. And i mean EVERYTHING.
Much love and respect.

Install the latest drivers and enjoy. That is everything, and I mean EVERYTHING.

Everything? You forgot about the actual switching of the cards! You need to remove the 460 and install the 560

Do i uninstall the drivers first? Then replace the GPU? or just replace the GPU and install the 560ti driver anyway?

@Naraku:
I always uninstall old drivers just because prior to installing new ones, just to get rid of the old traces even when just getting the latest, but some say it's unnecessary. So it each their own

So basically
1. Uninstall recent drivers
2. Replace GPU
3. Install new drivers

Then i'm good to go?

That's how I roll. I even run Driver Sweeper between uninstalling and reinstalling, getting rid of old traces. It may not be that big of a deal with nVidia, but I do it with my AMD cards. YOu can skip it though, just do it later if there turns out to be issues. Up to you, as many will say it's not needed.

PS, make sure the PC is off when replacing the cards

Good upgrade. 5 series generally uses less power than 4 series.

Here are some tips, since you said EVERYTHING:
  • Do not attempt to change graphics card while asleep.
  • Do not attempt to change graphics card while sleepwalking.
  • Do not urinate on graphics card while changing it.
  • Do not smash graphics card with hammer (neither during or after install).
  • Do not drill holes in graphics card. Doing so may degrade performance 100%.
  • Do not insert graphics card into mouth.
  • Do not insert graphics card while wearing electric gloves.
  • Avoid feeding graphics card to dog before installing.
  • Avoid dropping graphics card in ocean.
  • Do not use graphics card as weapon.
  • Do not leave graphics card in driveway.
  • Do not toss graphics card in traffic before installing.
  • Do not attempt to eat graphics card.
  • Do not drop graphics card from height in excess of 1 mile unless you have secure plan for soft landing.
  • Do not attempt to install graphics card while skydiving.
  • Do not attempt to install graphics card in shooting range.
  • Do not attempt to assassinate graphics card.
  • Do not attempt to install graphics card while underwater unless in secure and dry submarine.
  • Do not attempt to install graphics card underwater.
