Sapphire Also Launches a China-Exclusive Radeon HD 7750 OC Graphics Card
In addition to the global launch of Vapor-X CPU cooler, Sapphire rolled out a factory-overclocked Radeon HD 7750 OC Edition graphics card that's exclusive to the Greater China region. The card is based on the standard cost-effective full-height board design Sapphire used on the base model, enhanced with a factory-overclock of 850 MHz core, with 4.80 GHz memory. It packs 1 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 128-bit wide memory interface. Based on the 28 nm "Cape Verde" silicon, the Radeon HD 7750 packs 512 Graphics CoreNext stream processors. It is expected to be priced around 650 RMB.

That is EUR 80 or $100. Expensive since you can get a 2GB 7750 for that price in EU. I would have expected prices in China to be a lot lower.

+1 Exactly what I was going to say. But got confused by the "wrong thread" reply. At least in my country: Sapphire 7750 2gb DDR3 - 86 Euro (VAT included), and the Sapphire 7750 OC 1GB DDR5- 101 euro (VAT included- 20%). That's consumer prices in the shop, dunno about dealers.

What's so different over their Sapphire HD 7750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI (11202-05-20G) it's 850Mhz same 4.80 GHz memory. Eggs got it for $100 -AR$10...
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Expr... http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...n=&lid=1&leg=0 Althought by the picture the China version has different/missing components. Even the lentght to the back of the board is less used so yes a cost-effective pcb. Last edited by Casecutter; Nov 29, 2012 at 02:32 PM. |

OK agreed. It seems the DDR3 versions are indeed crappy. Didn't spot that!

For HTPC use I don't believe not having GDDR5 is any big issue or difference right. If AIB's can offer either single slot and/or half-height cards for a good price there's not a problem.
It’s like 6670 nowadays, most are DDR3, but big whoop as no one should call them as "gaming". So why load them up when today they’re just a nice upgrade card for folks with Intel HD 2500, that are aren’t looking to do more than Angry Birds or such. The problem is such 6670 aren’t really priced low, but no bad as a $50 item. |

You don't need a 100$ card for HTPC, unless you occasionally game on it, which GDDR5 is useful.

![]() And no, I didn't say they should be $100! For a 7750 DDR3 half-hight... I said "for a good price". I look at it as you can get 6670 half-hight with DDR5 for $75 -AR today, so soon enough that's not unreal for a DDR3-Cape Verde. Last edited by Casecutter; Nov 29, 2012 at 08:37 PM. |
