Which SSD for my OS?

I need some opinions! I am rebuilding my rig, and I want to know opinions on which SSD to put my OS on. I am currently using the 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 max iops..and i'm slightly disappointed in the performance. I have the 240GB version of the sandisk as linked below. I intend one of the drives to hold a game or two that I play often. Which would you use for what? Im thinking of sticking with the OCZ for the OS on capacity alone, and since i'm doing a major hardware upgrade I think ill be a lot happier with the speeds at that point.

The Sandisk Extreme is really fast, and that's the ssd I'd use for my OS. It's a fine drive, I had one for a while and would recommend it

Still liking the Samsung 830 I have.
The Write speeds are not fantastic but if this is primarily for OS, you can't go wrong.

write speeds really dont matter that much on a SSD. Your really going to be reading off it a lot more, and either way the writes on an SSD will still be better compared to a mechanical.

im using the Kingston HyperX drive as my OS drive (120gb), and the Samsung 830 as my second drive (240gb) mainly for games and other apps., both are awesome with no issues as of yet

If we are just recommending an ssd, I'd say a Samsung 840 Pro. I thought the OP had to choose between his Vertex 3 and Extreme, and out of the 2, I went for Sandisk as OS drive. But, I always feel good recommending a Samsung!

Why get the Vertex 4 when you can get the Vortex? I have a Vertex 4 myself though.

128GB Vertex 4

Samsung 830 or 840 will do you well also

you really cant go wrong in todays SSD market,should probably look for one thats on sale or just get the cheapest of the bunch,the performance differences between them are negligible.

Yeah if it's between the 2 you have, I'd stick with Sandisk Extreme for reliability IMO. The OCZ will be ok for some games

No, don't partition a SSD unless your keeping data on it. Then separate you data from your system but not your install games and programs

Really? ok. No data will go on the ssd any way. Why no partition? Just because of the way the data cells are laid out on the chips?

You don't need to set different partitions, but creating a smaller partition for Windows (aka over provisioning) is a good idea.

Interesting read, recommends 20% OP but its up to you.
