Upgrade Plans/Ideas: Rapture {Ultimate #MK.I}

Well,

I finally got a job after a long stint of unemployment, not a great job to say the least but it still brings in the money.

With cash flow problems slowly easing I can now focus on upgrades and upgrades will happen probably 3 months into the new year albeit a 'slow boat to china' speed of progress...

I plan to pretty much keep the core of my build which is the 2500k, mobo, ram and hard drives because at 4.9Ghz im not going to struggle with any game or encoding task any time soon and i rarely encode media unless its for my youtube channel and all encodes are done in pretty much less the a minute.

Upgrades planned:

- getting rid of my 6970s - switching them to either 670/680's in SLi or whatever new Single powerful GPU that Nvidia or AMD is selling at the time. I wont be crossfiring with AMD anymore so it will be single GPU only.

- changing/upgrading storage setup: Dedicated SSD for games, 512GB and maybe another further down the road. 2x3TB HDDs - So i condense all the data i have down to these. I will put the discarded drives into a multi-HDD external storage drive caddy or some cheap NAS.

- getting rid of my Fractal Define XL and getting a more W/C friendly case. Either a Corsair 650D or 800D depending on my budget at the time.

- Switching to full W/C based around a Swiftech Maelstrom 5.25 Dual Bay Reservoir with either a single or dual pump.

Id keep my GPU's air cooled. but my room doesnt take the extra heat very well especially if the cards are certified A* grade room heaters like my 6970s so going full W/C is a must.

- Monitor: I will be upgrading to a 27" catleap or similar either later this month or january next year.

==========

I havent gone full watercooling since Asetek was still in the market making their own W/C kits so i will most likely need a little help.

with that in mind, Id like to hear what you guys think

I would run the OS and gaming storage of a Raid set up with mechanical drives(like Blacks x4) and I would get one SSD at like 32GB and use that for the Paging file. I have been rolling like that for some time now and performance and cost ratio is great! IF money is no issue then maybe SSD raid and storage. Nice set up tho.
