EVGA GTX 670 FTW or Asus GTX 670 DirectCU2?
So im between these two! I know that the FTW has a higher clock speed and is more stable ( and a wee bit faster than the Asus ) and the Asus has the custom cooler making it run a bit cooler and less noisy!!! What do you guys think? I want to make this purchase having in mind that i will be adding another 670 later on for an SLI set-up

Get the Evga graphics card first and maybe a Asus or a different 670 later. You might want to consider getting the Evga GTX 670 FTW Signature 2 model of the graphics card if it is within your budget as it has better cooling.

If you can afford the Asus DirectCU2 TOP edition, then it seems to be the best 670 out there.

...I am running my ASUS GTX 670 DirtectCU II at same speeds as the DirectCU II TOP version - so the ASUS is rock solid....

ASUS hands down over the EVGA. My GTX570 Direct CUII @ 950 core does not go over 60C with the fans @ 65%. Best card/cooler combo I have ever owned.

Hmmm , although the asus DCII is the way to go , since the EVGA FTW got the signature model with the after market dual fans ( which are quiet and make the card run cooler ) i see no real distinction between the two , so i would say that it's gonna get down to customer support , RMA support and waranty!

ASUS card for sure, the cooler is just so much better than the reference nVidia cooler eVGA uses.

Oddly enough I can say that with the 670s there are quite a few ones which are at the top in the same place oddly enough so it is difficult choosing the best 670. Currently the Evga Signature 2, Gigabyte Windforce X3 and Asus DirectCU II and MSI Power Edition OC GTX 670 graphics are the best ones to have while the Gainward Phantom GTX 670 only have points down on the fact it uses up 2.5 slots (as good as 3 as the slot after the second can't be used due to the cooler), but is good as the top performers; and then there is the Sparkle Calibre GeForce GTX 670 Captain which hasn't been reviewed that much as it only recently came out (or at least in the UK it is), but is probably a top high performance graphics card with good performance per watt assuming it is similar to it's 680 equivalent (last I check there was only a review on the Sparkle 680). Other 670 graphics cards tend to be average performers or have significant flaws (or I may have missed a few good graphics cards), but I won't go further with that. |

Asus is Rock solid, their cards are hard to match in terms of cooling and quietness!

I don't see a reason to pick the more expensive option. Both cards will perform so close to the same it's not worth the cost of brain-cells wasted on a comparison. The nvidia chips run beautifully and quietly on air and really gain performance in greater numbers by going to water cooling. Realistically you will not notice a difference. 670s are beasts.

If you don't mind, let me do a objection to the MSI GTX670 Power Edition. That card does have a flaw (not a important one for the casual/non-extreme overclocker user, just those that want take some risks). http://www.tomshardware.com/news/MSI...ion,18013.html |

I've got the EVGA GTX 670 FTW 2GB and it performs very well, just to let you know. In regards to your pick id say buy what makes you happy they are all good performers.

I don't mind the temps at all, i assume the card can handle it self. Plus while gaming GPU-Z reports core clock running as high as 1241MHz in some games, so the card preforms well more than i expected and most of the time depending on the game it averages 1215MHz
