If it's coming out this early, I don't think it will be very good.

I saw this last night on the VGA awards. Even though it was just a cinematic trailer, still looked awesome. And I'm sure there's lots of fans out there that are ecstatic to see this being worked on.

I'm currently enjoying Dark Souls PC as I speak and the graphics are phenomenal! The difference between the PC and Console versions are like Day and Night. Playing this game at high res with 60fps is the best thing that could happen for the game on PC even you need to work around it.

The game director has changed although I hope the gameplay remains as solid and the story more or less as ambiguous as the first and second game as it really created a ominous atmosphere.

60FPS would cause issues tho, like jumping and rolling distance and player falling off the world when sliding down in ladders

Nothing wrong with the PC version last time. They were the same game. How could one be better/worse?

I have seen the Trailer several weeks before and I was intrigued... I wanna play! Didn't play or know about the first one though. And I really loved the soundtrack in the trailer.

He probably meant the optimization of the game for the PC itself. The PC port of the game only supports (locks at) 30 frames/s and got a limited option of resolutions (and graphical settings), hence it needs community patches to cope with these shortcomings/limitations.

Dark Souls, while a fantastic game, did suffer from a particularly not-great PC port. Nothing was inherently broken, but the resolution had to be upscaled to 1080p and frame rate was locked at 30fps, leading many PC fans to consider it a bad port.

Great news for Dark Souls PC fans awaiting the sequel, though. A number of foreign language sites are reporting that Dark Souls 2 is being developed on an entirely new engine with PC as the lead platform. As a result, Dark Souls 2 will allegedly run at 60fps on PC. The gameplay footage that was released the other day was also running on PC, and it looked fantastic, which is very promising.

It’s not just good news for PC players. For console owners, Dark Souls 2 will run at a steady 30fps with no drops, FromSoftware are claiming. If this eventuates, and it just might with the new engine, then there will be no repeats of Blighttown’s atrocious frame rate issues.
