EA Origin question

Can I pre-order Crysis 3 and gift it to a friend? I tried looking at their FAQs but saw nothing mentioned.

Origin has nothing in the manner of gifts (as far as I'm aware). Theonedub said he for a gift code one time, though some extravagant hassle with their customer service, but their service is lacking compared to Steam's gifting options.

the easiest way is to use your Card/Paypal to pre-orde with his account, and not save the details. although I doubt it will be much of a gift.

or you could pre-order a physical retail game at a local store and send him the actual game or key when it releases.

Easy, either log into their account and order it or create them an account and order it.

Actually, I don't hate on Origin like some others, other than their complete lack of gifting options. I'm sure they'll catch on eventually though

The easiest way to get EA to enable gifting in Origin would be to mount a massive public outcry AGAINST gifting. In true EA fashion, the gifting option would be implemented post haste.

the use their future/current account idea sounds good

but i have forgotten if it ties the game as you buy, or if it gives you a key to add to origin after buying... if it's just a key, you can buy & send the key

It ties the game to your account if you buy it, there is no gifting option.

What I did was had him create an account and he gave me the login details, and paid for the game.

It was dirty, but it worked.
