It seems you guys don't have clans, hence you don't really WANT to have a T92 at first.

I just took my SU-100 for it's first real spin, and something amazing happened.

For the first time EVER in my time in WoT, I have a tank with real armor! :O
(Only the front, but it's stunning none the less.)

I didn't find the SU-100 armor really good, or the fact that it's best guns sucks at accuracy, but the 122mm gun does a lot of damage.

As I've only been using Russian SPG's and TD's, it's a heck of a lot better than anything else I've tried. :P

Still on the 2nd 85mm, and really don't feel that it's all that accurate. Guess I have to try the 122mm to learn. :P

Don't go Russian TD line if you don't want to get pissed off and delete game. SU-100 is OK but SU-152 with 122 mm gun and ISU-152 are pain in ass, until you get the good T10 gun (eternity without premium). Of course object is another story. My advice for newcomers is: Go Russian medium line T-44 and T-54 are fantastic tanks. You gonna love them. T-62A (currently have him) is also fantastic tank, has huge punch of around 3000 dmg/min, fantastic gun but has weak armor and takes experienced player to play him good.
Go on Tiger 2, E-75 (to me best T9 tank, fantastic armor and gun), and of course his royal highness THE E-100 with 150mm gun and gold ammo. NOW, THE BEST TANK IN THE GAME from worst tank in the game. 3 of us from clan in E-100 and gold ammo, now that is fun and broken desk, keyboard and who knows what else with enemy. We win almost every game. On Russian heavy line, IS-3 is great tank, but T9 and T10 (IS-7, IS-4, had them, sold them) are not so good any more. Why?? Because of gold ammo for creds. Main thing about Russian heavy line is armor, and armor is irrelevant when you load gold ammo, and their guns have slow aim and low accuracy. They are still good tanks but not as before.
French are nerft to hell. Very hard to play, always at back and snipe, and easy to kill. Bats is still fantastic if you play him right. But if you don't think while you drive it will bi like LoLTractor... Very quick and painful death.
American tanks are very special. Try hellcat and dont play him like TD noob in bush, but use his speed and get on sides and backs of enemy. Use strong turret on t8-t10, use terain to hide everything but turret, use gun that can go very, very low.

For me Sixth Sense is first perk for commander. Then BiA for all. Then camo.

Most definatly IMO, even more so, you don't want to be spending all that repair bill just because you have been spotted, even without firing, I always camo up first with any arty from Tier 4 upwards, I appreciate though it's a personal thing but to me the first rule should always be to stay hidden as long and as often as possible when arty. I then go for the 6th sense perk for the commander and specialist perks for the gunners/loaders etc.

I don't play arty, but IMO once an arty has been spotted there is a very high chance that it gets hit. So you have to do anything you can to hide it: camo skill, camo net and camo paint (if you want to pay for it).

Was wondering if any kind-hearted soul here has an invite code they would be willing to share.

After reading this thread I do very much want to try it out. I would be forever grateful.

I don't think you need an invite code..... unless the North American server setup is different to Europe, on Europe anyone can just go to the front page of the site, click the download button and sit back for 45 minutes.

You don't need an invite code, just go here http://worldoftanks.com/game/ register and download and voila!

There are invite codes for new players which gave you some gold and/or some Premium days and/or one Premium tank.
Otherwise the game is free to play.

Ah my bad. Thought you had to have an invite to join.

I'll be trying this over break now that I get some time off.

If anyone has a bonus code that they can spare to jump start me I won't say no to it!

I used to really like the IS7, its still a good all round tier 10 but just gets beaten more often now as the competition is so much greater.
