Giveaway: END of YEAR Shibang!
Our newly appointed moderator Mindweaver had an awesome idea of doing a big giveaway for the end of the year, and I was glad to attempt to throw it all together. We have many games up for grabs, from several different donators, and we are inviting all here at TPU to share.
SPECIAL THANKS to: Mindweaver, Maban, FordGT90Concept, silkstone and lyndonguitar for donating ![]() ![]() Blacklight Tango Down mypg0306sent ![]() Metro 2033 Techtusent lemonadesodasent ![]() Nexuiz jmcslobsent ![]() Orcs Must Die 2 lilhasselhoffersent ![]() Prototype dhoshawsent ![]() Red Faction: Armageddon RejZoRsent johnspacksent ![]() Red Faction: Guerrilla Spaceman Spiff!!! ![]() Saints Row: The Third n3rdf1ght3rsent ALMOSTunseensent ![]() Sol Survivor Musselssent ![]() Spec Ops: The Line Bowsent ![]() Total War: Shogun 2 LightningJRsent ![]() S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl brandonwh64sent ![]() Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War okidnasent ![]() Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine WarhammerTXsent ![]() The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings Guitarrassdeamorsent ![]() So here are the details: Requirements: Must be a TPU member w/ a post count of 100* (or if registered on TPU before 2012, 75 posts). Must have a valid Steam account to receive a prize. * Active WCG and F@H members are exempt from post count requirement. Also, you may enter even if you have previously won in a giveaway! How to Enter: Considering it's the time of the year that the spirit of generosity prospers and thus gifts are flowing freely, Post about your favorite and/or most memorable gift that you have received, as well as what game you would like to enter for. Please share regardless of your beliefs or affiliations; this is all about having a good time and sharing, meaning there will be absolutely no discrimination whatsoever. ![]() Closing Time: I'd like to get everyone's entry in and close out by Tuesday, the 25th, so let's aim for that. (subject to change based on several factors )Random: The winner will be chosen randomly, using either Random.org or Ford's pickrandomline utility. When entries close, all entrants are formulated into lists for their respective games, and then those lists are randomized using said utility, resulting in the top name being our winner: no favorites are played. ![]() Very Important: Once announced and PM'd, the winner will have a firm 36 hours to claim their prize. If not, the winner forfeits their earning and a new winner will be drawn! ![]() So that's it! It's been a great year here at TPU, lots of goodness going on, and I'm sure nothing will change in the coming years. A big thanks to all the mods and admins for their awesome work, as well as to everyone who has contributed to the community in all ways. I'll update the OP if any changes need to be made ![]()

Most memorable gift that i got was a big fat plush sheep that i got from my aunt. It has way over half a meter in diamater and it's actually a very round sheep with tiny legs sticking out of it and and head basically hidden in the round body. Imagine a normal plush sheep toy with just really fat and round body. So fat that all the limbs and head get almost consumed in the body. It's hilariously looking thingie
I have it on my back seats of the car so it's rolling left and right in the corners ![]() My entry is for the Red Faction: Armageddon.

edit: not 500 posts in 7.5 years! lol
new edit: post count revisited! I'd like Saints Row 3rd please ![]() As for toys, got to be meccano, after 2-3 years of lego (safety notwithstanding) that has to be an upgrade. I think it was like 6 years for me, but, wow. Loved it.

My best gift I received was the PS2 I got a few years after it came out. I was a huge Playstation fan, and played my PS1 all the time. My mother got me a PS2 unexpectedly, and it was a HUGE surprise. And guess what - we got it out of the box and it didn't work. LOL. She took it back the next day and got me a replacement. Either way it was awesome!
Put me in for The Witcher 2. Thanks.

My favorite Christmas gift was "Stompers Wild Mountain"
Stompers were just little cars and trucks that took 1 AA Battery, they went forward when you turned them on... You could change the tires and connect trailer to any of em that had a hitch... Good times.... I received this gift in 1981...when I was 3 years old....I have yet to feel the same excitement from a gift since " Entering for Nexuiz Found em on wiki

I've received so many wonderful gifts for Christmas during my childhood that is hard to point out one. It's been 18 years since I have the joy to give Christmas gifts to my son.
Comes a time in a man's life when giving gifts feels better than receiving. I'm sure all of you who are giving here at TPU know that. Thank you. |

My most memorable gift was an NES box with a lump of coal in it. It was the first Christmas NES was out in the US, and my parents thought it would be hilarious to pull the NES out of the box and hide it, then replace it with a lump of coal. In hindsight, it was hilarious. lol.
I'd like to enter for Saints Row: The Third.

Not just end of year; end of the world giveaway! Err, I guess we're all still there.
The best gift I ever recieved was a box of legos when I was 4-5. I totally didnt choke to death or anything, and those provided years of entertainment. I kept collecting them for years; and last week I pulled out a box of them, must have well over 5000 pieces by now. Still having so much fun, lol. Give me legos and Im 4 again Im interested in Spec Ops: The Line ManyThanks to you guys doing this giveaway! |
