Also looking to upgrade
Looking to upgrade my GPU. Game at 1080p on a 24" monitor, would like to play games maxed with decent fps if possible.
Been looking at 7950 or 670. Specs in profile thingy.

GTX 670 should be fine.

You might want to look into upgrading you PSU soon. With capacitor ageing the 670/7950 might put a bit of strain on your system.
Any is fine, it's personal preference and or what you can find cheaper. They will both give you a huge boost in gaming. |

the 7950 or the GTX 670 are great choices for 1080p gaming. The 7870/7850 and GTX 660/GTX 660ti are also good choices.

For 1080P gaming, either card would be fine....you should be able to max out a vast number of games. Just be sure that you have a good quality PSU in the 550W range or higher.

Consider this: first GTX670 then 7950 then GTX660Ti then 7870. Check your budget.

Been looking on ebuyer, prices of cheapest 670 are ~£290, prices of 7950 AsusDCuII ~£250.
And 660Ti's are around the same as 7950's, so I'd be more inclined to go for the 7950's since they seem to overclock well. Worth waiting till January, see if any prices fall? I've stuck with this 3870 for aboutttt....6/7 years? few months more wont hurt.

As for waiting, either you buy now or in late spring when the new cards will be out. Don't think AMD will lower even more the prices. In less than a year this card went from $450 to $300. |

Get a gtx 670, better than a 7950 and just 50-60 bucks more.

How does this model compare with other 7950's? I might be more inclined to spend the ~£18 more and go for the Asus DCU2

I have a 7970 reference model (same cooler for 7950 ref.), and I can say it is a poor choice. A basic sapphire model with 2 fans, or a Gigabyte Windforce 3x are A LOT quieter and the price don't raise more than 10%.
If you pick a Radeon, it's worth to spend an extra bucks to get a better cooler. |

Thanks for that recommendation about noise and cooling. I really want to keep noise down in my system and definitely would spend more to do so.
Now the question is if a 7970 or 7950 would be bottlenecked by anything in my system. |

Most likely by the CPU,but you would still see a very significat performance boost,i was running BF3 with my old phenom 940 @ stock with my 7950 and was getting around 50-60 frams every thing ultra and MSAA @ 2x

I've never heard of that site either. I'd stick to the well known site in the UK
